5 reviews for Sling Bag, Tactical Shoulder Bag Crossbody Backpack 14L Large Capacity Sling Backpack Waterproof Travel Bag for up to 12.9 Inch Ipad (Black)
Tactical? Not exactly. Travel? Yes, please I am a gear girl. I have lots of backpacks, bags, etc and I travel a lot. I’m also a firearms instructor and former officer. There isn’t much that’s tactical about this bag. No pockets or anything specificaly made for firearms, ammunition, duty gear, etc. Just tons of general pockets. The only thing that is close to tactical is the similar-to-molle lash system on the front of the bag. I say similar, because it is made, not from nylon straps like regular molle, but a thin soft/fuzzy material similar to the soft side of velcro. And that’s the point: this stuff will accommodate velcro so you can stick your morale patches on there, or you can use any regular molle gear to lash other items to the outside of the pack. So I would say that it looks tactical, and can definitely be used for any tactical gear, there’s just nothing specifically made for tactical gear. IMHO it’s not the best range bag, but to each their own. That being said, this is a fantastic pack. For me, it’s so great for travel. I have now purchased 5 or 6 different bags just for travel in an effort to find the perfect one for me. I’ve bought slings (too small except the samsonite one I got – way too big), backpacks (not really my favorite – too hard to access while on motorcycle or bicyle or on the go in general) and other bags which just aren’t cutting it. I’ve even modified the ones I’ve bought in the past to try and appropriately carry what I need to when traveling, but I thought it was a lost cause. Sure, I can throw everything I need into one pouch, but that makes things inefficient for me. I want to have immediate access to certain things I need frequently when I travel. This has two expandable pockets on the side, for me, perfect for a travel umbrella and a water bottle. I don’t know what one reviewer was talking about when he said he couldn’t get a water bottle in it. Must be a big one. I put a 3″ diameter bottle in mine and it was fine. Out of my large bottle collection, I only have a couple of monster hydroflasks that are bigger than 3″ in diameter. It has so many pockets! For those who mentioned the “weird” way the top of this bag opens, it’s that way because it’s meant to be accessed by just rotating the bag around to the front of you without taking it off, that way the lid doesn’t open backwards and get in your way while you’re looking for something. It’s another fantastic detail that makes this bag awesome for on the go use. The material is very sturdy, almost too thick, honestly, its a bit stiff and I hope it will break in a bit. Most importantly to me, there are a few D rings, straps, and even a very small velcro pocket on the chest strap itself for instant access without sliding the bag around. The velcro pocket is so small, the only thing I can think of using it for is your keys if you don’t have a huge keyring or a small pocketknife. But the D rings and straps mean that I can finally attach my phone and my camera directly to the strap on the bag so I can grab them without having to get into the bag in any way, or keep them in my usually non existent pockets (female clothing manufacturers, take freaking note, please!) especially where they might fall out from the movement I make while on bicycle or the vibration when I’m riding a motorcycle. It has a “safe” pocket, too, one that sits between you and the bag itself so that no one can get into it while standing behind you. The strap is nice and wide and comfortable. It’s lightly padded, and you can change which side you sling it from. The zippers are laminated for better water resistance, and they are sturdy and well sewn, although I’m not sure how well the lamination on them will hold up. So far, so good, but after a few years of getting into this thing all the time, I doubt the lamination itself will remain in good condition. I’m extremely happy with everything else, and since this bag is not claiming to be waterproof, well the zipper lamination thing is not the end of the world. I have several dry bags, waterproof jackets, etc with laminated zippers and they do wear down with use. Great bag! So happy I found it.
Fairly good sized for a sling bag So I’m a backpack user, always have been and always will be and have limited experience with sling bags. First impression out of the box was this is made with heavier materials/fabric than most backpacks. The main part of the bag should shed water okay but there is a different type of material with slots in it on the front of the bag that seems like it would absorb and hold water. I found opening the top main compartment rather awkward (it’s like it is backwards on the bag) and the zippers were stiffer than they could be, probably due to a waterproofing lining. They are not the heaviest duty zippers and only time will tell how they or anything else on this bag will hold up. My wife’s Apple Notebook with protective sleeve easily slid into the padded pouch inside the main compartment. This is a shoulder bag and will not carry as many books, clothing items or other bulky stuff like even a smaller sized backpack so as long as you know that and have limited things to carry this may be all you need. The shoulder strap is well padded and can easily be adjusted for various size peoples although I thought maybe it could not be adjusted small enough for smaller folks as it seemed kind of large on me with all the slack out of it and I’m 220 pounds. One thing very notable was the side pockets that had stretchable bands on it which actually only gave so much extra room, I mean like maybe it stretched an inch and not enough to get my slim water bottle in them so not sure what they would be used for but not being able to get my water bottle in them is a star off all by itself. The tightening straps on the main part of the bag only allow so much extra room inside the bag so I deem them rather useless although I suppose you could strap something on the outside of the bag. I like being hydrated and all of the backpacks I ever owned could carry a decent sized water bottle. Plenty of other people have listed off all the various compartments so I won’t here but there are lots of them for a bag this size. The padding on the back of the bag is rather cushiony so will feel good on your back. Again, if you carry limited amount of books or clothing or whatever this might be a great bag, it is well constructed and I did not see any loose stitching whatsoever. It looks like a quality bag too.
Uaskmeyt Sling Bag This is a relatively small but versatile bag. It has several zippered compartments that can hold items as small as a wallet or pens or (in the largest middle compartment) a tablet (up to 12.1 inches, as long as it is not in a thick case). The inner compartment is not big enough to hold a laptop computer, however. A zippered “anti-theft” pocket on the back is located so it would be against your back or your chest (depending on how you carry the bag), inaccessible to pickpockets. There are round side pockets that can hold a small collapsed umbrella or a collapsible walking stick or baton. There are several hooks that can be used to hang sunglasses and a smaller zippered pocket in the front. It is a very good back to take to work (as long as you do not have to bring a laptop with you) or on vacation. It can hold all of your valuables securely, the shoulder strap is very comfortable, and it is made of water-resistant material, so anything inside of it will be protected if you have to walk in the rain. It is a great option if you are looking for a small carrying bag.
I’m Digging It I am really loving my Uaskmeyt Sling Bag. It’s the perfect size that I was looking for, as I’m tired of taking my big, bulky backpack on planes. The material is water resistant and made very well. There are tons of compartments on this thing (front, top, back, interior). The key selling point for me was the fact that it can hold my iPad Pro 12.9″ with no problem; that right there was the price of admission as far as I’m concerned. Other standouts are the anti-theft zippered pocket on the back, the nice padding on the back, and the toiletry pocket. It’s absolutely perfect and will be my “go-to” bag from here on out.
