Not bad
pros:-swivels, turns and tilts in any direction (love that)- easy to attach- no suction, magnet, or anything like that- attaches to the dashboard without damaging it- stays put- fits big phonesslight cons (nothing majorly horrible)- when you have a phone case it almost cannot grip the phone, ALMOST, it works but it’s a close call- the release is in the back which makes it a bit awkward removing the phone (I’m not sure how this could be improved by the product engineers, just saying, but it does work )…so at the end of the day, this is a very good product. I’m glad I bought it and I would recommend.

I bought two and theyâre good
So far it seems to be well constructed and potentially will last a good while. Iâm impressed with the spring. It is stout and holds the unit in place very well. I use the two I purchased while operating a semi, as well as my personal vehicles, so I keep them in a backpack. Meaning I donât leave them in a vehicle, so theyâre not left in extreme heat. That might weaken the components and cause a failure. The only negatives are the set screws that set the tension on the rotating parts. These will loosen and the device being held will begin to point downward. A simple tightening with a Phillips head screwdriver sets it back in order. I expected this to be an issue before purchasing. I really canât give big negatives for this. Itâs affordable because itâs plastic, and plastic components can only be tightened just soo much before breaking, so I donât mind tightening when needed. This unit is versatile to different surfaces as well. Iâve used them on curvedand flat surfaces. Actually I clamp these upside down in the semi to where the devices hang down below the edge of the dash as thatâs the best position for unobstructed visibility. I would purchase this unit again if mine went away for whatever reason.

Difficult to use daily
The good: the grip is very strong. The holder clamps securely to the car and the phone holder also grips tightly to the phone itself. The bad: the two tabs that have to be squeezed together to open the phone holder clamps are located behind the phone. This necessitates an extremely awkward twist of the wrist in order to mount and dismount the phone. I wind up having to grab the phone over the selfie camera to insert it into the holder. This causes fingerprint issues. The little nubs that hold the sides of the phone are also very shallow. If you have a thick phone case like a Otterbox, it may not fit.The dashboard clamp has very uneven length arms. The short arm that actually has the gripping power is too short, making it hard to find a proper place to use. On my Mercedes GLC 300, the only place I could find on the dashboard where this worked is on one edge of the center screen. It obscures one edge of the screen but it holds securely. My dashboard has no overhang that will allow this clamp to work properly.

Not enough padding
So the padding is very thin and the sun pretty much melted the padding. This left the plastic frame which is under a lot of tension pushing on the dash of my Toyota Avalon. So now after 1 week it cracked thru the dashboard skin.Seems like a company would know the padding is too thin, and could melt in the sun, where behind a windshield it will get very hot.So I’d say cut a strip of leather and use it between dash and the clip to prevent this from happening.

overall very useful but it doesn’t stay in position due to the weight of the phone
This holder clamps over my car visor. I couldn’t find anywhere else to clamp it but it’s still convenient on the visor (there is no suction cup or adhesive for this holder, only the built-in clamp which works fine). The phone is easily inserted and removed, the only drawback there is that it really needs two hands to do that. It can be swiveled 360 degrees to have the phone in any orientation. It comes with a screwdriver to tighten the screws on the clamp and swiveling phone holder, but I was not able to make them tight enough to prevent the phone “drooping” when clamped to the visor. I just keep the visor more horizontal to deal with that. If I could clamp it on the dashboard that wouldn’t be a problem but there is nowhere on my dash that the clamp will work. Overall I like it and find it better than any previous phone holder I have used.
