Customers say
Customers like the weight, comfort, and thickness of the shirt. For example, they mention it’s heavyweight, soft, and thick. That said, opinions are mixed on fit and shrinkage.

13 reviews for Dickies Men’s Heavyweight Crew Neck Short Sleeve Tee
It does shrink! Yo what up, this shirt is legit. If you like heavy, rugged, manly, build ford tough, build like a 85 Chevy big block, better than any pos dodge ever made kind of shirt. This is it. It’s priced well. I’m 5 foot 7 and about 175 lb. I wear between med, and Lg. I got large cuz I don’t like snug fit. It’s perfect. It shows up pretty large on me, but I washed it and it shrunk and I’m pleased with the fit. If you want cheap work shirts that don’t suck. Buy one and try it out. You can sit here all day wondering if you should buy it, you spend more than this at McDonald’s. Just try it you will like it.
Nice, heavyweight Tshirt I ordered this for my husband. It came in a timely manner, and after washing and drying, fits well. It started out slightly snug around the love handles, but as he wore it that part loosened up a little. It is nice and long, coming down almost to his hip. It looks much better on, than his old ones that have gotten saggy and too loose. It is also much heavier fabric than the Fruity one, and I expect it to be more durable. I removed the Dickies tag from the pocket with no problem. It was not glued, so I just carefully worked the stitches loose with a seam ripper. I will order several more in different colors, I believe this will be his go-to shirt from now on!
Great Success! High Quality Shirt at This Price Point Not enough people put their body dimensions on here to make sizing an unseen/unknown shirt easy.I’m a guy – so I don’t care if you know my specs – here they are:6′ 5″ tall310 lbs23″ technical torso measurement (back of neck to waist line)21″ armpit to waist line54″ chest18″ pythons (biceps for you skinny hipsters)Usually I buy shirts in 2 XL, 2 XLT, or 3X.Normally I buy shirts with the “tall” designation since my gut sticking out typically makes a “non-tall” shirt rise just to the point of showing skin when I lean back or reach up with my arm(s). No one wants to see that – unless that is your “thing”I went with the 2XLT version of this as a baseline.Results:100% cotton shrinks even if it “preshrunk.” Pre-shrunk does not shrink as much, but there is a noticeable shrink none the less.New from package w/ no wash – length was fine – fit was snug, but not too much to show off the moobs or gut too badly.First wash – length still fine – fit was too tight – moobs and gut sticking out like an over packed sausage – not flattering.-You can pull the shirts to stretch it out to be less form fitting, but I don’t want to mess with that after every wash.Returned both 2 XLT’s and went with a 3X regular length.3X reg length is good enough (unless reaching with arms up as far as I can) – fit is quite loose on the moobs and gut (read comfortable and flattering), but not to tent proportions.Shirt really is heavyweight and I love it. Can’t see through it and looks like it will last a while, just like most Dickies items do!Pocket is a touch too tight/small for my Galaxy S5 with case since they seamed in a dedicated pen/pencil pouch inside the total front pocket dimensions. As is, it is good enough to hold a couple pens or something along the size of a deck of cards.Ask your grandma, mother, or wife for a seam ripper to remove the Dickies tag on the front pocket. If they are good with the stitch, ask them to rip out the dedicated pen/pencil pouch and the pocket becomes big enough for a smart phone.I used to buy Fruit of the Loom Men’s Short Sleeved Pocket T-Shirt from both the Normal and Best collections since they used to be available locally in a “mart” store. That Wal place doesn’t carry the front pocket shirt in my sizes anymore so I found them here on Amazon. FotL changed their material/construction practices with this shirt recently and they are bad quality, even at $5-$8 a pop. They lasted me about 6 months of 1-2x/week use and one weekly washing before fabric was worn thin and piling badly. They are now dedicated “I don’t care what happens to them work shirts”I am a fan of Dickies items and I would say that these shirts display overall good quality and with some modifications done at home I would highly recommend them.
Perfect Long-Lasting Shirts! These shirts are a great weight and last better than other brands I have tried. Don’t be fooled by the description “heavy weight” because it’s just the right weight for warmer weather. They don’t shrink when washed and look nice for a long time. I’ve bought many Dickies long- and short-sleeve shirts over the years and will continue choosing them (instead of Carhartt).
Great Quality My 35-year-old son asked me to get him pocket tees for him to use for work. Well, I normally would order Carhartt brand, which is double the price of Dickie’s brand, but my son is a autobody technician and ruins all his clothes. So, when I went on Amazon in search of good quality shirts for a great price, I found the Dickies Heavy weight crew neck shirts with great reviews and great pricing. I ordered 3 for him and of course, I was ready to send them back before even receiving them! As soon as I opened the package, I was so pleased!!! These tees are truly of great quality, accurate sizing and heavy weight cotton material! Great product!!! Very pleased and my son loved them. They wash up wonderfully! No color fading and no shrinkage.
Fit is inconsistant. I have ordered these shirts for more than a decade. First from Dickie’s direct and now from their Amazon store (Less expensive and faster shipping from Amazon). Shirts used to be a lot thicker, but with most products materials are getting cheaper. These are still pretty thick and durable. This big issue is that the fit varies quite a bit between colors and even batches. I order 4 different colors 2 fit good, 2 did not. One that did fit was much longer than the rest, but not a big issue to me. There were all the same Tall size. I have even ordered a color that fits, then 6 months later, order the same shirt and the fit is not the same. Order again and it fits. I will probably keep ordering, but it is a shame that I have to do a partial return for the ones that do not fit properly.
