2 years later, still looks & performs great
These are the best affordable, midweight thermal bottoms I have ever owned. (I bought them in black.)It has been 2 years since I bought these thermal underlayer bottoms. I’m back to buy more… not because mine have worn out, but because I use them so often that it’s just convenient to have more. These happen to be the thermal leggings/bottoms that I like the best. They’re the most comfortable and versatile of all the sets I own. And I own a lot. Everything from thin stocking like material, smooth & sleek, waffle pattern, ribbed pattern, fleece lined, entirely fleece, 100% cotton, various synthetic blends, etc. I have bottoms ranging from ultra lightweight to heavyweight… skin-tight to loose fitting… some with stretch, some without. Some are meant for special occassions (i.e., wearing with fancy clothes, wearing exposed with short skirts, sports activities, military use, etc.). And some are just general purpose. These particular bottoms fall into the general purpose category. Meaning, I typically wear them under my everyday clothing, while sleeping, and for some special occasions when it’s not absolutely necessary for me to wear a specific kind of thermal underwear.I bought these along with the lightweight version made by 32 Degrees. Both do not have acrylic in the fabric, which I appreciate because it allows for more breathability. (This is especially beneficial for women’s “private areas,” where you wouldn’t want sweat and excess heat getting trapped.) And it does not cause me to feel overheated as the weather warms up during the day or when frequently alternating between indoor/outdoor temperatures. I can pretty much wear them all day, underneath other clothes, without noticing them. (I do notice when I’m not wearing them because I’ll get super cold and wish I had them on.) Both versions are also form-fitting and contain a decent amount of spandex, which means I can comfortably wear them under most types of pants and they won’t restrict my movement in any way. I have not experienced problems with either versions “stretching out” throughout the day and/or bunching up. No sagging issues around the waist. No problems with the ankles riding up.I was living in the Midwest at the time I purchased these bottoms (and the lightweight ones). The weather where I was living was unpredictable. But for the most part, we could expect chilly to extremely cold/sometimes freezing cold days during parts of the Spring and Fall; and freezing cold days thru out the Winter. I only had a few comfortable, form-fitting, general use thermal bottoms left (made by other brands) when I decided to buy these. Many of my previous form-fitting bottoms had become stretched out to the point of being difficult to layer over or to wear in general. They’d shift around, sag, ride up in places, and be difficult to adjust after using the bathroom. Some completely wore out to the point of being unusable after a few seasons. The quality ones I still had just weren’t available for purchase at the time. So, I took a chance on buying new ones from this brand that I was unfamiliar with.I am so glad I did. I ended up buying two more of both the lightweight and midweight bottoms because I was so pleased with the products’ performance and pricing. All of the bottoms were a lot cheaper 2 years ago. But honestly, the questionably low price made me skeptical about their overall quality and how well they’d perform after several washings. I figured if I could just get a single year use out of all of the bottoms (given how often I wore them), then at least I would have gotten my money’s worth. I really did not expect the bottoms to still be in such great shape after 2 years of regular use. The lightweight ones have experienced some minor pilling over time, but they don’t look bad and are still very usable. One developed a small hole where the seam gave out (after more than a year), but I was able to easily hand sew it; and it’s made it thru many more wears & washes without problems. (I highly recommend the lightweight bottoms, too. But the midweights are my favorite.) All three of the midweight bottoms (this product) still look, feel, and perform as if they were practically new. I’d say I got an amazing deal for the price I paid at the time. Without even considering inflation and just taking into account the quality of these thermal bottoms (especially compared to pricier ones I’ve purchased from big name brands), I think it’s reasonable for the price to have gone up. The price is now comparable to the other quality thermal leggings I bought before. I foresee these thermals lasting me AT LEAST another year without starting to look worn out or causing significant problems. These midweight bottoms are best suited for wearing under everyday clothes or uniforms on mildly cold to very cold days. I’ve worn them under sweat pants, dress slacks, khakis, denim, hospital scrubs, carpenter pants, tactical pants, and ACUs. I’d opt for something warmer if you plan to be outdoors in freezing weather for a lengthy period of time and you won’t be engaged in a lot of physical activity to generate additional body heat. They’re also very comfortable to sleep in or wear around the house when the you’ve got the thermostat set a little low. These are form-fitting, but the amount of tightness will depend on the size you get. They have some stretch to them if you wanted to try a smaller size to see how tight you could get them to fit. I don’t think that would be wise or necessary, though. They’re already fairly thin. If you needed something thinner, I would just go for the lightweight version. Those would also be better for sizing down for an ultra skin-tight fit. I picked my size using the manufacturer’s size chart, which proved to be accurate. The recommended size was perfect for me. The bottoms cling to my body in all areas, but they don’t feel as tight as normal leggings or stockings would. You’ll want that tiny bit of “looseness” to trap in more heat and maintain breathability as you transition between colder and warmer settings. It makes it so that you can wear these thermals all day without feeling like you need to take them off at times. (*Even though I mentioned looseness, I don’t consider these bottoms to be loose. They’re pretty form-fitting… they’re just not skin-tight fitting.)The material is thin and lightweight, but not ultra thin. (The lightweight bottoms are very thin, to the point of becoming somewhat sheer when stretched out.) These are not see-through at all when the correct size is worn. However, I wouldn’t attempt to wear them alone as leggings. The material is finely ribbed (lengthwise) and has some discreet banding at the waist and ankles. They wouldn’t look like fashionable leggings, IMO. They look exactly like what they are… a really nice thermal underlayer. Plus, they don’t feel warm enough to wear alone as leggings in cold weather, and they wouldn’t provide much structure/hold if you needed it. If you did want to try them as casual leggings, I can tell you my panty lines don’t really show through these bottoms unless I’m wearing underwear with really thick or tight seams. It’s still not super noticeable, though. (Another reason I love these bottoms is because it helps completely conceal any panty lines when I’m wearing very thin dress pants.) The rise is slightly lower than mid-rise, IMO. I have a slightly longer torso than most women my height, so it’s hard for me to gauge what’s consider low vs mid vs high rise. These fall several inches below my navel, but they offer ample coverage for my bottom. I have no concerns when I wear them around the house and sit/squat. (I bought these in size small. The waist line is about on par with some mid-rise jeans I have that come up 10 1/8″ in the front and 14 1/2 inches in the rear. I can pull the thermals up so they’re slightly peaking out above the jeans or wear them so that it’s just a tiny bit below the waistline.)I can easily put tight jeans – even skinny jeans – on over these bottoms. There are certain pants/jeans I can wear on top of these that I can’t wear over thicker, fleece-lined thermals or equally thin, but looser thermals. I’ve never attempted to wear jeggings or ultra skinny jeans (the ones where you can barely get your foot thru the ankle hole) with these. I’d imagine those types of pants would be a little tricky to get on. If I ever find my pants are a tad too tight and skinny, I simply tuck the ankles of my thermals into my socks first. The socks help hold them in place while I slide into my jeans, maybe making minor adjustments right before my thighs, and then the rest is smooth sailing from there. (It’s a trick I learned after so many years of wearing thermal bottoms. But I rarely have to use that trick with these ones.)In my experience, these midweight bottoms launder very well. They hardly need any special care. At most you should just avoid very high heat settings on your washer and dryer due to the synthetic blend. I’ve avoided washing these bottoms with items that have velcro or anything extremely abrasive on them. Otherwise, I mainly toss them in a front load washing machine with like-colored clothes – including jeans & jackets. I always make sure any zippers on clothes are fully zipped and top buttons/coverings are closed before washing – just to prevent zippers from accidentally catching on other fabrics. I mainly wash my clothes in cold or semi-warm water and set the dryer no higher than the middle/warm setting. I have accidentally washed these in hot water a few times. No harm was done. They dry very fast, so you could hang dry them in a normal indoor setting and be able to wear them within a few hrs (probably even sooner than that). They’re also easy to hand wash during camping trips.I have recommended these midweight thermal bottoms to plenty of people already. I’d recommend giving them a try. Don’t abuse them, treat them like most other clothing items, and they should last you a long time.

Great fit and comfortable
I have purchased 32 Degrees clothing before and it is always comfortable and wears well. I just received these today and am very pleased with the fit and the look. I’ve worn them under jeans when outdoors for a long time and they do help to keep warm for moderately cold temperatures. I normally wear them as leggings around the house and for sleepwear. I am 5’4″ tall and weigh approximately 135 lbs and I purchased size large. I will definitely purchase more of these.

These are so soft, wash after wash
I LOVE this brand of long underwear! I have the bottoms and the tops. They add a lot of warmth but not bulk! And they feel so good on my skin! I highly recommend them!

Great for winter weather
This is my first winter on the East Coast after 19 years in AZ Sun. These pants are so comfortable and warm. They make for a great first layer. And they fit well under all of my clothes. Highly recommend these

Perfect under my cycling tights
These are incredibly soft and very light. They are a perfect base layer for cold weather. I ordered a medium and a large but I wound up keeping both. The large are a little big.

Warm and soft
Great for if you need an extra layer under ski pants or even jeans. Also cute for lounging. The fabric is very soft.

Not as warm as I expected
I purchased the leggings because I had already purchased the thermal top thinking it would keep my legs just as warm. I’m disappointed, the material is light so it didn’t provide the insulation I need.
