It reduces your steps and frees your hands.
It’s easy to use. It’s all plastic but seems strong enough. It’s pretty accurate as you can see from the pictures. The extension and retraction mechanism is a little bit sticky, but it will probably wear in. The pencil and blade are lined so that you can make a mark with the pencil then cut with the blade. Realizing of course that you would almost never need to make the cut then cut with this tool. You would just cut at length mostly. Still, they work well together. Over all it’s a decent tool for the job. Longevity is still to be discovered.

Creates more problems than it solves
Clever idea. Super convenient sounding. But! Nothing is calibrated to be easy. If you use the measure tape rip guide, the mark and the blade are off over a quarter inch, the pencil mark has the same problem. That can be compensated for easily, I know. Worst part for me though is the cutting. Using the measure tape rip guide, the tape is off the drywall 3 or 4 inches before the blade is. Hope you have a straight hand. Then, after you scored the drywall and bend the piece so you can cut the back side, the ax is too fat to reach the crease and cut at times.Old fashioned measure tape, carpenter squares, T-squares and chalk line with a straight edge razor you’re comfortable with. Buy extra blades, not this. Sorry to the creators of this, but it’s a gimmick. Not helpful.

Good easy tool.
After using tool just a few times pushing button up to lock tape gets harder to lock trying to push button up but other than that the tool is amazing.

Buyer be wear
Cool gadget tool. Works ok with pencil, not so well with blade. I ideas/concept is awesome but the actual quality of the tape measure is garbage. Should be a heavier gauge steel tape, not one mad from aluminum foil- it lack rigidity.

Bought for my son as gift.
Bought for my son as gift. He just bought a house that need some drywall finishing in the basement. Made his job a bit easier. A great addition to the non professional’s tool bag.

Great idea, poor execution!
Was excited to use this knife but encountered a couple of issues. First itâs bulky and doesnât fit In my tool belt easily. Also, when cutting a large sheet of drywall you have to hold the end of the ape and the knife. For instance, I had a 56â piece I needed to cut and had to have an assistant hold the tape end while I cut. Then the blade would not stay locked in. I did a plunge cut and when I pulled the knife out the blade stayed in the drywall. The biggest problem though is itâs too easy not to make a 90degree cut. Not sure I wouldbuy this again.
