A Tough Brick I’ve been using the Blackview BL8000 5G rugged smartphone for a while now, and hereâs my take on it:Performance: The smartphone runs smoothly, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes a huge difference. It doesnât feel like Iâm using a cheap, unknown product.Battery: The 8800mAh battery is massive, which is both a pro and a con. It reflects in the weight of the phone, making it feel like youâre carrying a brick. However, this phone isnât built for convenience; it’s designed for ruggedness. The battery life is excellent, making it ideal for construction workers, long hiking trips, and overnight camping. A feature I particularly like is the ability to stop charging at a set percentage threshold to preserve battery healthâsomething I wish my Apple smartphone had.Durability: I submerged the phone in a lake, and it survived! Itâs definitely waterproof. The rugged build and certifications for drop and scratch resistance are reassuring, especially for outdoor adventures.Camera: If youâre buying this phone for its camera, you might want to reconsider. Despite the 50MP camera claim, it doesnât produce high-quality pictures. For hiking trips, bring a digital camera along.Storage: The phone comes with a fixed 512GB of internal storage, which is ample for most needs. Although the product description mentions expandable storage, there is no Micro SD slot. However, I don’t count this as a downside since the built-in storage is substantial.Usability: The phone has some usability quirks, like the SIM slot not indicating which is for SIM1 and SIM2. However, these are minor issues in the grand scheme of things.
Replaced 2 Samsung’s with this Ok so long time (many years) Samsung (personal) and iPhone (professional) user. I replaced Samsung 23 Ultra (junk screen-breaks) and Samsung 21 Plus (too much use due to Ultra screen cracking constantly) with this phone. So far reception (Mint Mobile aka TMobile) here in BFE Mississippi is better than I was getting with Samsungs. Features for ease of use are far superior than Samsung’s/iPhone and features not available on Samsung/iPhone are far more common sensical than those two makers. Not having to buy a case or worry about quick battery depletion or memory issues is nice.$450 vs $1800 for superior product? No regrets. Plus having the Amazon Everything warranty for any future issues. No brainer.
Power, memory, super battery and… indestructible! ð¦ My first look:When unpacking, I discover a sturdy, square, white box with the brand name in silver. Inside, I find a smartphone in unbreakable mode with a successful design. Gone are the days of horribly ugly unbreakable smartphones. I’m really happy with this first look because the phone exudes quality. But let’s take the test now, to check what’s in his stomach! It looks like the Blackview 5G Rugged Smartphone BL8000 is a real powerhouse! With a huge storage of 512GB ROM and 24GB RAM, you have space and power to spare for all your needs. It has a screen on the rear side which allows the display of summary information and adds versatility and convenience to the device. I’m a fan of this feature! With a 6.78″ FHD+ display and a 120Hz refresh rate, the viewing experience is undoubtedly superb. Plus, with a massive 8800mAh battery and 33W fast charging, you won’t have to worry about running out of power while on the move. The 50MP+16MP camera promises to capture every moment with incredible detail and clarity. With features like NFC, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 and advanced GPS, you have everything you need to stay connected and secure. Plus, with Android 13, you will always be updated with the latest features and security, the Blackview BL8000 seems to be an indestructible and cutting-edge phone that definitely deserves a 5-star rating!
