Very Pleased w/my s42
I’ve been very pleased w/my s42, approaching 1.5years of ownership. Just to clear up some currently out-of-date info :: My s42 was auto-upgraded to Android v12 several months back (so it is not limited to the stated ‘v10’). My s42 works fine w/a 512GB XC SD card (not the max of 256GB advertised my mfg, THOUGH I only tested it in the ‘Separate Storage’ config, not the alternative of ‘Shared Memory’ …). And one day plan to try it w/my 1TB XC SD card, too, but 512GB addresses my needs (for FLAC audio and pic files).I have also used it on both AT&T and T-Mobile 4GLTE networks (and, yes, in the fall of `21 AT&T did have an issue w/the s42, where the s42’s mfg had not yet gotten it thru AT&T’s approval process, but that was resolved w/AT&T in early `22). And since 5G is only viable in cites of significant size, 4G LTE will be with us a long time (& personally I have zero desire to watch any HD video content on the tiny screen of any kind of phone).I’ve also found the s42 acts well as a home WiFi hotspot, going thru multiple walls to deliver decent signal strength. And for USB tethering you can cofig the battery charging to be limited to 30% min -to- 70% max, to avoid damaging the battery via constant 100% charging while tethered via USB. Otherwise, I appreciate the s42’s robust construction, Gorilla Glass screen, sealed ports, dedicated 1/8″ stereo audio output jack, long-lasting battery and the solid reliability this phone has provided me to-date.CORRECTION : 512GB XC SD card works fine for playing audio w/Pulsar app, and you see the album artwork fine (via Pulsar) that also resides on the same SD card. However if you download a file from the internet w/the SD as destination, it appears when viewed via s42 that the you’ve downloaded a 0-Byte file (despite the length of download time), but the correct file is actually on the SD card. But rather than deal w/that I went back to the S42’s suggested max 256GB XC SD card w/o issue.

2 Year Warranty is a lie, the manufacturer is not recahable
I bought two of these phones, and although the phone had a lot of UI issues and software problems it was still a useful phone with resistance advantages. But, a couple of days ago, the phone fell into the shallow portion of the pool, and as advertised it kept working, but to our surprise, it didn’t charge anymore.Of course, the phone is useless if it can’t be charged. I contacted the seller to use the 2 Year Warranty, but for more than 15 days, I have no answer on how to proceed.

Easy Setup
The unlocked phone was easy to set up to work on the AT&T network. It updated to Android 11 in no time at all.The phone is ruggedized, but sleek. The phone is IP69/68 for intrinsic safety and MIL SPEC 810H. The battery life is about 2 days and it has fast connectivity when NFC with Bluetooth 5.0. it works on either band 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz and the camera is 13 megs.Overall, a great phone, especially for the price!

Tough phone
Would be 5 stars, however the phone is super slow and very little memory. I did add a micro SD to increase storage. Very rugged and a great phone for the price.

This phone is a survivor
Last year when I bought this phone in March I had gone through 7 phones of various makes and models (android for life). None of them could stand up to the abuse they get. The flash light gets used all the time and they get bumped and drop sometimes I miss my pocket or forget it’s in my lap. My hands are always wet when working and the phone gets wet all the time mostly cause of the type of work I do. The only thing this phone hasn’t endured yet is a complete submerge. But this is the only phone I’ve had for more then six month and other then the signs of obvious wear around the edges this phone is like the day I bought it. The only thing I’ve done is change the screen protector and there wasn’t any cracks or anything but it was definitely starting to get cloudy from again obvious wear. Most days I go bed with 70% battery or more unless I’m on it all day. but I’ve never run in to my phone is dying unless I forgot to charge it. the camera is pretty good it’s not the best but it does what I need it to. And the phone has plenty of storage. I’d give this phone 6 stars if I could just simply for survival of being my phone lol

After a few months I’m down grading this phone.
Awesome battery life. Best encountered for an economy phone. It’s a little slow to respond at times. Still like it.Update 6/9/24Cut phone to 2 stars. It’s always slow. Some times agonizing sloowwwwwww. And Don’t get the phone wet. Got caught in a heavy down pour of rain outside including phone. Phone did not submerge. Was on belt clip. Something oozed out of USB port. Glue? Can barely fit a charge cord now. Sorry I bought this phone.Update 6/13 no longer charges and has to buy another phone.Update 6/25 warranty is useless. Warranty inquiries are ignored. I received no response to my warranty claim!
