Best overall set for the money Imo
This comes in a handy three removable drawer box and is a pretty complete set minus deep 1/2 sockets. I bought two sets one I use it as my junkyard/carry set so I can leave my SK sets home in the garage and the other stays at my work. The only negative about the kit is the ratchets as I’ve had to warranty them all multiple times and since have replaced them with newer craftsman low profile ratchets that fit in the designated slots.

Right Where You Need It.
When you’re building, or repairing something, and you need your sockets/ratchets, but they’re all in your garage, shop, or wherever it is that you keep them, what do you do?? Well, you do what everyone does, in that situation, you stop, go and get the ratchet/sockets you need, then return to what you’re working on. Oops. You didn’t get the right size socket/sockets, and the back and forth begins. We’ve all done it, and it will probably happen again, but what if it doesn’t have to happen again??
With this Craftsman tool set, you can eliminate the back and forth, retrieving the correct size sockets/ratchet, from ever happening again. You can bring every ratchet/sockets you might need, to whatever you’re working on. It’s all there, and it’s all organized, so it’s easy to find the size you’re looking for, eliminating that back and forth situation.
This set also comes with a full set of hex keys, and common sized boxed/open end wrenches, in SAE and metric. The drawered box is made of a sturdy polypropylene plastic, which makes it lighter than most metal tool boxes. Every piece has a fitted slot, which keeps everything from rolling around inside the drawers, and the ratchet/sockets are organized by 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch sizes, from top to bottom. The box has a single locking mechanism, that you can engage/disengage, to lock the drawers in the closed position, so the drawers won’t open when you’re transporting the box. This box is also compatible with the Craftsman VersaStack, and the DeWalt TSTAK systems, so you can add, or remove this box from your stack, but you shouldn’t have to. Each drawer, in this box, has release tabs, on each side of the drawer, so you can remove the drawer you need, without taking the box, or the stack with you.
In conclusion, this is a great tool box, for taking ratchets/sockets, hex keys, and common sized boxed, open end wrenches with you. It’s reasonably light, organized, sturdy, stackable with two different systems, and it’s Craftsman, so the tools have the lifetime guarantee. It’s the same guarantee that Craftsman has always had, even when they were owned by Sears. If any of the tools, in this set, break, the company will replace them. The box itself doesn’t have that lifetime guarantee, but I have had VersaStack/TSTAK boxes break, or fail, and Stanley Black and Decker, which owns both companies, sent me new ones. I only had to send them pictures of the breakage/failure, and they replaced them, at no charge to me. I’m sure this is a case by case service, so it probably depends on the situation, but that’s been my experience, on two separate occasions. That’s why I continue to buy their products, and that’s another reason why I recommend buying this item.

Great starter set for new drivers.
Bought two for grandsons turning 16. Very complete with a good selection of tools for starting a collection of tools for the future. Only concern is durability of plastic tool box. We’ll see.

Perfect Weekend Warrior Mechanic Set
With an upcoming hub/bearing assembly swap on 3 of the 4 wheels and new brakes on all four, I needed a new ratchet as my 28-year-old Craftsman 3/8″ ratchet suffered a couple of rounded off teeth after years of use and abuse. Shopping around just for a ratchet, and wanting to also buy a 1/2″ ratchet, the prices pushed me to start looking at larger/bundled kits. While I didn’t really need all of the sockets and wrenches included in this kit, I couldn’t beat the price, especially with the price reduction on this kit, which by the way is still full price at Lowes. I couldn’t be happier with this kit, and it should well-serve any weekend warrior mechanic for years to come, as long as you don’t abuse the tools. I added some adapters to the kit to allow use of the 1/2″ drive with some of the 3/8″ sockets, as the length of the 1/2″ drive provides a little more leverage, finding that sweet spot when the 3/8″ drive isn’t enough and my 18″ breaker bar is too much/doesn’t fit in the tight spot. The plastic case, with the removeable trays/drawers keeps everything neat and tidy, easily identifying when something is missing. With my aging eyes, it was tough to see the raised numbering to identify the socket size, but this is easily addressed by coloring the raised numbering with a black Sharpie to make them contrast against the rest of the red tray. It was nice how the trays can be removed and stacked on top of the case for easy access. As mentioned above, I added adapters, but I also added a 6″ 3/8″ drive extension as the included extensions were too short to access the mounting bolts for the brake calipers and hub/bearing assemblies on my vehicle. The layout of the trays/drawers leaves plenty of space for these additions and probably a bit more. This kit paired with the Craftsman 1/2″ impact driver, and the added adapters and extension, I was able to tackle the job easily and save myself a ton of money instead of paying the dealership or some other garage to do this. The only thing needed for the job that wasn’t in this kit was a 32mm socket to remove the axel nuts, thankfully I was able to borrow one from a friend. Overall, this is a great kit and I highly recommend it, especially if it is $90 below regular price.
