I love Chloe and Sawyer
My Review:Ever since we met Chloe with her debilitating asthma and her contentious relationship with the town sheriff, Sawyer, I have been excited about their story. I just knew that it was going to be wonderful and I was so right! This was a WONDERFUL book! This book epitomizes everything that I love about contemporary romance. The heroine, Chloe, is feisty, although she has had obstacles growing up that would weaken a lesser character. The hero, Sawyer, is pure alpha, but still maintains his wonderful emotion and compassion. There is a great back-story for both these characters, both in their childhood, but also in the history of their relationship which has definitely been rocky from the start. Chloe doesn’t think twice about skirting the edge of the law if she thinks it will right a wrong. That is definitely NOT something that Sawyer likes about her especially since he seems to be catching her at one illegal activity or other all in the name of the greater good. The issue though is that he can’t seem to help but admire her gumption and stubbornness even in the face of what could be a life threatening illness for her.Through it all, there are several back and sub-stories which were equally intriguing…Sawyer working with the DEA and his conflict over the issues with his childhood accomplice, Todd. Sawyer is also dealing with his elderly and ill father. Their’s has never been an easy relationship, but it was wonderful to see that change a bit in this book. Chloe is still trying to find her place with her two sisters and their B&B business, so she is working at building a new day spa. Chloe’s best friend is Lance and he is dying from cystic fibrosis. His story is so heart-wrenching especially watching it from Chloe’s point of view. There are really some wonderful story lines in this awesome book!I have honestly loved every book in this series and this was the perfect final book about these awesome three sisters. I have heard, and am so excited about the fact, that there are going to be three more Lucky Harbor books next year. Yippee!!! I love me some Jill Shalvis reading and with the glimpses that we saw of Cute Guy in this one, they definitely promise to be some more MUST-READ books!

Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis
After finishing book 2 in the Lucky Harbor series and absolutely loving it I might have gone into this book with too high of expectations because I found it a bit lacking. What Worked: Sheriff Cutie was my kind of hero. Dark and brooding, his presence often spoke more than his mouth did. His by the rules no thrills lifestyle is nice compared to so many broody book boyfriends who have almost too much baggage. He did have some but I kind of blew it off as unimportant. Speaking of Sawyer I liked that a thug from his past (an old high school buddy if you can believe that) brought a sense of conflict that I thought was well played out.The dynamics between the 3 sisters had nice conclusion in this 3rd book of the series. Growing up as strangers and being brought together for the common good (or their inheritance actually) made their interactions more and more important as the series progressed. It was nice to see them become friends but more importantly, actual sisters. What Didn’t Work: Chloe. Her character is a total free spirit which was fully blamed upon her dead mother’s parenting skills (or lack thereof). This might explain why she was wanting to run away from any attachments within Lucky Harbor, whether it be with her sisters, Sawyer or the family business. However, her ‘wildness’ seemed over the top and the physical danger she put herself in seemed way too self destructive than her free spirit ways should have allowed. There is a balance between dancing to the beat of a different drum and thumbing your nose at fate. Her constant asthma concerns were prominent in every encounter we witnessed. She couldn’t help paint without a mask because of the asthma. She couldn’t sit by a bonfire because of the asthma. She couldn’t have mind blowing sex because of the asthma (for real). Yet, she could go mountain climbing or hang gliding with no trouble? What? I would think the change in atmosphere might be a problem for someone with that severe of a problem. The asthma was never an issue on her adventures with her friend Lance. Weird. My other problem with Chloe is the only time I saw much emotion from her was when she was discussing Lance’s disease and it’s progression. Even during her “I Love You’s” with Sawyer felt out of place and unbelievable. In addition to Chloe’s inconsistencies, the big showdown between the bad guys and Sheriff Sawyer was anti-climactic. It was wrapped up way too quickly and left me wondering if I missed a few pages. In a Nutshell: Despite my feelings toward Chloe (I like her least out of all 3 sisters) I really enjoyed the book. Chloe and Sawyer had some excellent scenes together that were just plain fun (their drunken painting project comes to mind.) The growing Bed & Breakfast business is a joy to watch if you’ve read the books in order and have seen them overcome their huge obstacles. I would recommend not only this book but the entire Lucky Harbor series to romance readers. Jill Shalvis has a wonderful way of combining excellent characters, stunning scenery, laugh out loud humor and sizzling hot passion. It’s a winner of a series!

I Heart Jill Shalvis:)
There’s something that is such a comfort in reading a Jill Shalvis book. Her stories are consistently great. They are funny, charming reads with just the right dose of emotion. No matter what series of hers I’m reading, I’m pretty much guaranteed to enjoy it immensely. The Lucky Harbor series is one of my very favorites!I have been waiting for Chloe’s and Sawyer’s story since the beginning. I think we all had a pretty strong inkling in book one that they were going to be matched up, and the anticipation has been killing me! The wild girl and the straight-arrow cop is a classic pairing, and Jill Shalvis did a great job putting her own spin on it. These two are great together, and the paint scene, in particular, gave me a really good laugh;)So, now each sister has her man, a beautiful B&B to run, and a quirky town to call home! The best news, to me, is that this series will continue with the next book, Lucky In Love. The bad news? Lucky In Love isn’t released until May 2012. Sigh. Well, if nothing else, it gives us all plenty of time to reread the first three books in the series. And, really, why wouldn’t you? Who couldn’t use an extra dose of Jill Shalvis’s comfort, charm, and fun??

I HAD to get this book because I had just finished Christmas in Lucky Harbor which contains 2 stories: Simply Irresistible and the Sweetest Thing which contained the stories of half sisters Maddie and Tara. Head over Heels is the story of the youngest of the sisters, Chloe. All 3 books were compelling and hard to put down. Great escape romance literature.

Head Over Heels is the third book in Jill Shalvis’ Lucky Harbor series and focuses on the youngest of the three sisters Chloe. She is the most free spirited of the sisters and was the only one raised by their mother Phoebe. Having spent most of her life travelling she never really knew what it was like to have a home, she has always enjoyed being able to drop everything in an instant and go looking for a new adventure but for the first time she is beginning to see the advantages of family and a stable home life. She still wants to have fun though and the restrictions caused by her severe asthma give her the urge to be reckless and make the most of the time she has. Just because Chloe has started to think about spending more time with her sisters and making Lucky Harbor and their B&B a more permanent base doesn’t mean that Tara and Maddie take her seriously though and she is hurt when they don’t trust her to stick around.I have liked Chloe since we first met her and have enjoyed laughing at her antics throughout the previous books but in her book we get to see a deeper side to her. You can’t exactly call her upbringing a stable one, where he sisters had their fathers as a sensible influence Chloe didn’t have anyone apart from their flaky mother to rely on. It’s no wonder she acts the way she does but I enjoyed seeing her start to grow up and take a bit more responsibility for her actions in this book. She is never going to be someone who lives completely by the rules though and I like the fun loving side to her just as much. The sisters hardly knew each other when they first arrived at Lucky Harbor and it has been fun to see how close they have become, they have finally bonded into a proper family. There has been chemistry between her and Sawyer since they first met but she drives him insane with her crazy antics. As the town Sheriff he has had to get her out of trouble on more than one occasion but he is still drawn to her wild side. Sawyer may come across as a sensible man who lives to follow the rules but he wasn’t always like that and in his younger days he would have given Chloe a run for her money with his antics. That is one of the things that draws him most to Chloe even though he feels like it shouldn’t be. He definitely wants to take care of her but he also accepts her and is the only person in her life who isn’t trying to change her into something she isn’t which was something I really liked about him.I have thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series so far and Jill Shalvis has definitely worked her way onto my list of must buy authors. She has a massive back list but I’m fully intending to work my way through as many of her books as possible! Head Over Heels doesn’t disappoint and has just as much humour and sweet romance as the previous books. I think there was slightly less sauciness in this one but the interactions between Sawyer and Chloe were still fantastic and I loved their banter. It was also great to catch up with the previous couples and see how everyone is getting along. This series makes perfect light hearted summer reading and I would highly recommend it. I’m already looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
