Fun This series is always a bit of lighthearted fun. This addition was no different. It had several funny moments and the usual cast of crazy characters. I will say that I longed for more interaction between Maddie and Ramirez. It was like they just connected in passing. The twins were also chute, but barely in the book except to be passed from one relative to the next. This book was mostly just Maddie. I still liked the book and love the series, but I didn’t get into this one as much.
Love reading about Maddie This was a grand slam for me as there are 4 things about this books first is the author is so good and has you hooked as soon as you start. The second is that Maddie who is the star of the book is just so funny you will find yourself laughing so much. Third it is #8 in the High Heels Mysteries so you will learn about high heels even if you are someone like me and has to wear sandles. The Fourth and the one that hits it out of the park is that it is about baseball which is a winner every time.
Best One Yet! This book picks up where the last one left off! We catch up with Maddie and the gang and of course the adorable twins and smokin’ hot Ramirez in an extremely fashionable murder mystery! With Ramirez “benched” this go around and 2 amateur detectives taking the reigns Maddie will have to pick up the slack and help solve the case while Ramirez is playing mr. mom. This book is well worth the buy and well worth the read! I love Gemma Halliday and of course cant wait to for the next installment in the series! Overall AMAZING book!!! (:
Best of the Series Yet! I have loved all of the books in the High Heels series, but I believe this is the best one. I just love how the relationship between Maddie and Ramirez has strengthened, and they both seem very happy in their lives. And, for once, Maddie could investigate without getting on Jack’s bad side! The other characters are fun to read about and feel like old friends. The mystery is well-played; Gemma cleverly makes the reader convinced that several characters could be the guilty party. Many series begin to lose their luster after 7 or 8 books, but this series actually is getting better. Can’t wait for more!
Worth Reading It was good to find out what Maddie & her friends have been up to. It was good, & a fast read. I’m not bored with the series yet, but I’m anxious to get to the next one in the series. I just chose to read between some deadly suspense books just to break things up a bit.
A home run… Funny and baseball too I really like this series and enjoyed another one of the high heel mysteries. I’ve bought all of the books in this series and enjoyed everyone. Funny characters, light storyline, and it wraps up in less than 400 pages. Well worth the cost of the downloaded book.I will be buying the next book in the series.
I LOVE these books! I am so glad that the author continues to write these books. I am totally invested in these characters and love hearing how their lives are progressing. The relationship between Maddie and Jack has been great to see develop and has been consistent throughout this series of books.Homicide in High Heels does not disappoint! Maddie is once again roped into a homicide investigation and I laughed, as I always have, as she gets herself in sticky situations and gets caught by her husband! I highly recommend this book and the entire series of books to anyone who enjoys reading mysteries w/ a little bit of comedic relief woven in!
Get another page turned from From a Halliday! I am booked on this series and (I didn’t use the Audible play which I usually do), I read the books and have Maddie, Dana and all the other characters images in my mind which I don’t get with Audible. Nothing to do with the book, just the way I read/listen. The book is along the same lines as the others, Maddie finds a dead body but this time it’s a little too close to home. The body is found in “faux dad’s” salon. This is personal. Dana, Marco & Maddie join forces as usual keeping things secret from Rodriguez. Amazingly, for reasons I won’t go into for fear of giving spoilers, Rodriguez asks Maddie a surprising request which she gleefully agreed to and that’s all I’m saying. I can sometimes guess who the protagonist is but this time I got a surprise and once again the ending came too soon because as always, I couldn’t put the kindle down. I enjoy these books due to the storylines, the characters (I really feel they are my friends which may sound silly but I see it as the mark of a really good read, something you’re totally immersed in) and the laugh out loud moments of this series. Jemma Halliday has a knack of taking you out of the real world for a few hours to go solve crime with the rest of the gang. I highly recommend the series,as well as her other books, if you’re looking for something not too heavy but thoroughly well written to capture your attention until you can’t stop reading. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!!
Another great one with Maddie doing the detecting. The birthday party nearly took over the fun but a good fight in the end. Read it, it will make you laugh

Thus high heels murder is a good story with a little difference.
