This book was a view inside the struggles of many people. There are so many men and women that can identify with what this author has shared in raw, honest detail. Life doesn’t always give us lemons, sometimes for brief moments, it also gives us a sweet lollipop to savor. The struggles, and “lucky” things are all intertwined in a tapestry of sounds and memories that many of us can identify with.Great job, very nice that this author chose to share some of the most intimate details of her life story. So happy it doesn’t end here. Her struggles and triumphs demonstrate that she earned those heels.

This book is the truth. She explains her trials growing up and being raised by her grandmother. The book is raw and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It was hard to put down because I was so curious as to what was next. I recommend this book to young women who think their past choices can stop them from becoming better. She beat all the odds and so can we!!
