Effective if you can get it to work, but limited utility and not super sturdy This ski/skate trainer seems like a great idea on paper, and the few times I was able to get it moving correctly it didn’t nice job for cardio and targeting leg muscles that traditional workouts often forget. However, there are too many cons for this to earn space in the house.- Size: On the one hand the track isnt long enough to get good range of motion (even at 5’4″) and the handle is too low to really do anything. On the other hand it doesn’t fold up, the handle isnt removable, and the track is just bulky enough that you can’t easily tuck it away when not in use- Motion: Each foot pad moves independently so you can either do a sort of jumping jack type motion (together-apart-together…) or you can sort of squat and slide back and forth kicking one side out slightly at a time. With a lot of practice I could get these moving but because of the curve in the track the motion never matched my natural stride so it was always awkward to use. I’m also not sure how well any learned patterns of movement would translate to the real land sport.- Build quality: Assembly was quick and easy but you’ll need to be careful not to strip the relatively soft threads. Once assembled it withstood about a month of actual exercise use by adults and endless fooling around by littles before we gave up with the machine. That being said, it always rickety and not like a quality piece of equipment.
Really works! This is AWESOME! Very easy to put together. I was a little skeptical, but I am pleasantly surprised with my results. Start off slow and build the number of reps each day. Heavy duty material. Easy to store when you are not using it. The price is not bad.
Great workout This ski simulator is fun to use and a fantastic workout. It was super easy to assemble with clear instructions. It’s well made and feels very sturdy and a good value too.
