Exactly what I was looking for…. So while the price of a little over 1,400 was a little on the cheaper side for a 40 series gaming laptop (which is what I was looking for) I was a bit hesitant because going through the store page it left some things not mentioned that made me question if I could trust this seller for such a big ticket purchase.Add that there were no reviews at the time and that just increased my anxiety. But I pulled the trigger and I am glad I did.I have been putting it through its paces for about a week now and love the performance bump I get from my previous 3060 laptop. So a few things that you may be interested in.First the display runs up to 165hz which isn’t mentioned in the above page….this is more then I was willing to settle for and was happy to see it was above 120hz.It does have a second ssd slot for expansion which I added my 2tb from my old laptop….its a 2 minute install, very easy.Comes with a 4070 and a 14650hx cpu as advertised.Runs fantastic and Lenovo thankfully lets you press the gpu/cpu if your willing to do so right in there own program which lets you overclock if you want. The fan noise is perfectly in range when it is full blast and the laptop stays cool for a gaming laptop.Havent had an throttling or any issue with the way its designed. The laptop came double boxed so its not screaming to have someone walk off with it on your porch and the laptop box has an armory of foam securing and protecting it….I’m not one not to complain when I think something I purchase falls short….but for the life of me I simply haven’t had a single negative issue with this laptop as of now….everything gets a checkmark and Im not new to gaming laptops….I know in general what is considered a pro or con.I suppose if you want an aluminum chasses like my older msi stealth that could be considered a con….but that one cost me $600 more and the hard plastic chasses on this is thick and durable….the inside is what counts and this laptop does gaming justice.I have no hesitation recommending it to anyone who wants a middle top of the line current series gaming laptop….this is a great choice!
Great hardware with my least favorite OS This machine is definitely meant for gamers born after the year 2000. The keyboard has an annoying strobe of rainbow backlighting, and the initial wallpaper is a vivid fantasy mountainscape viewed from behind a pretty, young female game character. The whole scene is stunning to look at, and my business-oriented machines seem drab by comparison. As soon as you finish installing Win11, check for updates. There are many hundreds of megabytes of updates to do with a half-dozen reboots. Like many machines, this laptop comes preinstalled with bloatware in the form of free, brief trial periods followed by hefty subscription fees for XBox, McAfee, Office365, MS Cloud storage, etc., the likes of which I have not seen since the 1990s department store computers. On every startup, Microsoft takes the opportunity to preach on their favorite left-wing causes. My first task was try ‘winget uninstall “windows web experience pack”‘ and other bloatware needlessly taking resources and asking for money.Getting back to the hardware, I was surprised that this was not a touchscreen, as that is a common feature with the Dell machines I order for the office. On the other hand, the screen resolution is a delightful 2560×1600 with vivid colors and powered by NVidia GEForce RTX.The keyboard is big and I’m happy to find a numeric keypad alongside the QWERTY key layout. There is an additional key just for summoning the Copilot “everyday AI companion,” which immediately conjures to mind an image of Jar-Jar Binks. The keyboard continuously strobes rainbow LED colors under the keys in a similarly clownish manner. Mercifully, this can be turned off via Fn+SpaceBar.While not as precise as a good wheel mouse, the 3″ x 4.5″ touchpad gives plenty of room to slide the cursor around the screen. The left-click and right-click buttons at the bottom are built into the touchpad surface. Photos can zoom in/out with a pinch/stretch gesture. The underlying hardware specs are spectacular and about par for a machine in this price range:- i7 Intel 2200Mhz, 16 cores, 24 logical processors- 32GB physical RAM- 1/2TB SSD hard driveOverall, this is a great machine with plenty of RAM, CPU, and GPU, but it has all of Windows 11’s annoyances.
