Great little upright stationary bike
Lately, I have found that biking 1/2 hr in the morning and 1/2 hr in the evening beside eating less will keep my sugar level in check, so I want a stationary bike to keep me out of the bad weather (I still prefer the real bikes.) After extensive search on the internet, I order this bike (ME-708) for the low cost, the portability (less then 40#) and the good reputation. After the ordering on the Amazon, I came across a better bike (MaxKare Black) which is more heavy duty and allow riders bike standing, I order that bike also thinking I will return the Marcy right after I receive it.This afternoon it came. The box is smaller than I expected and without any damage, so I had a second thought. Give it a try, if it works fine, I will give it to my wife. She can put it in the Morning Room and use it while watching Family Feud. The MaxKare Black is bigger and will be in the basement for my use only. While I put the things together I found that the contents in the box have minimum protection. The instruction is clear. the parts are well marked even though some drawings are in backward (Chinese way, I guess). In the middle of assembling, I found the soft plastic cover of the Main Frame has a crack and dents in some areas (it has no real protection in the box. other parts rest on it and damage it in shipping.) I kept going thinking that I will return the whole thing after the test drive. After finishing the assembly process without any mistake (with ease). Everything was nice and tight. I put it in front of the family room TV and started the exercise. After the first 1/2 hr, I did not want to come down because it was so nice and comfortable on the bike. The seat is much better than my mountain bike (Specialized Hardrock) or my comfort bike (Iron Horse) that I am using for everyday exercising. The mechanism runs very smooth and quiet. even though the bike foot print is small (1 foot X 2 feet) and on carpet, it feels more solid than my bikes so I bike most of the time with no hand touching the handle bar. The resistance is great and more than I really need. At 1, It feels like I am going 1 degree down hill. At 2, It feels like flat road at 6 mile/hr. At 3, flat road at 10 mile/hr…. At 5, you are going up hill a bit…At 8, it’s a small hill. It’s not a challenge for a serious rider but for an old guy like me, it’s more than enough.Even though I just play with it for an hour, I have enough evaluations for the product (I do test for a living). It’s solid and will last for awhile if it’s used correctly (don’t drop it moving or step on the casing of the Main Frame, don’t bike backward, don’t force the resistance control beyond 1 or 8, use blue lock-tide the next time you tighten nuts and bolts…) The short life items on this bike are: the seat, peddles (plastic with no bearing), internal belt (guess), computer button (leave it at Time because everything else is off. It powers on and off automatically), resistance control cable and knob. So be easy with them. After the test, I decided to keep the bike, saving me time from returning it. I called the distributor to resolve the broken Main Frame cover. The call went through without any long waiting period and the representative agreed to send replacement part. I don’t know how long it’s going to take but they have 2 weeks to correct their problem. So far I am happy with the service and the bike. With 2 year warranty, I think this bike is a great deal. Now I just have an idea. I will get rid of the couch and chairs in my family room and put 3 or 4 more Marcy bikes in front of the TV for the entire household.

Basic, inexpensive exercise bike
One of my resolutions for 2021 has been to get more exercise during the cold months. When it is warm, I bike a lot, but this isn’t that appealing when it is cold and rainy or icy. For that reason, I tend to lose muscle mass and stamina in winter.I first considered getting one of those indoor trainer bike stands that allows you to used your normal bike inside, but then I realized that exercise bikes aren’t that much more expensive and you don’t have to deal with the mess from tires and schlepping your bike into the house, etc.So, after some research, I ended up getting the Marcy Recumbent Exercise Bike with Resistance ME-709, which got excellent reviews in the category of affordable exercise bikes. And for $172 it is a steal. Having used it now for two weeks, I am really happy with it. I usually do 40 to 60 minutes in the later afternoon or early evening.Sure, it is pretty basic. It does not measure your heart rate and it does not provide intermittent cardio training and other fancy features you may get from a $2000 gym bike. But it has an 8-step resistance wheel and it tracks your time, speed, distance, calories, and an odometer for the accumulated total distance. It is also easy to assemble. If you ever put together a piece of furniture from Ikea, you will have an easy time with this bike. It is pretty sturdy, well built, and the pedals and flywheel are very quiet during usage. The only drawbacks that I can see are: If multiple persons want to use it, moving the seat back and forth is awkward but doable. And it is not easy to move around. It has little wheels on the rear end and handles that allow you to lift it up and move around. That’s a nice feature, too, yet it is still a bit cumbersome to move it. But that is probably true for any exercise bike.It is sold for “seniors” because it is a recumbent bike with a comfy seat, but it is actually just a nice, inexpensive all-purpose exercise bike without bells and whistles.
Maravilhoso. Amei. AltÃssima performance. –
Me encantó, custo, benefÃcio Muy bueno.La recomendó.Lo único incoveniente é que no zera a contagem de distância percorrida, calorias e demás informaciones en lo munitor.

What really impressed me as I unboxed and assembled the bike – was just how well built it was – very solid. The instructions were okay but I suggest watching a You Tube video on assembling this bike. The computer monitor really did need some suggestions of how to insert the wiring. With the help of You Tube…it went quickly.Once on the bike – it felt sturdy….a few tweaks and bolt tightening removed any movement. The flywheel is particularly smooth and I felt no difference from much more expensive fitness centre bikes. The monitor is basic – but provides most of what you need to know during a workout. (time, calories, distance, speed etc.). There is no holder for a phone or tablet….but that I imagine could be added to the post at some point. The adjustment for leg length is manual and a bit stiff but not something you are doing continuously so not an issue. What IS important is you can be over 6 FT and be comfortable as well as just over 5 FT!Having just had hip surgery and unable yet to ride an upright bike….the Marcy really has permitted me to “get back in the saddle” and get some aerobic activity and leg muscle strengthening. There are 8 resistance levels which is enough for a decent workout. Those looking for a “professional” type bike will need to spend more but for anyone looking for a well constructed and quiet recumbent bike at home….the Marcy MC-709 should be more than adequate. Recumbent bike reviews on You Tube and online have recommended this as a good budget bike for several years now and for good reason. (I did not receive any payment for this review).

No pesa mucho. Se mueve fácil. No estorba tanto.Recomendable.

My wife had a damaged knee and the consultant recommended a recumbent cycle for gentle exercise and it is perfect for this. It is also great for a more full on workout, the display panel gives all the information needed. If i had to find fault it would be that the length adjustments could have slightly more stops but easily solved by drilling another hole between two others for the adjusting pin to fit my wife’s leg

A lot of the reviews for this exercise bike indicate that it’s a very good buy for the money. It is a basic bike, but very well built and solid. The seat is about the only deficit with it… not that comfortable, and limited in its adjustments to up and down. The magnetic mechanism is almost silent, smooth, and easily adjusted. I imagine it will last a long time (especially since I need more discipline to use it than I presently possess). I would say it compares to many exercise bikes costing hundreds more, and surpasses most of the ones that use friction belts and flywheels. Great for the cost, shipped well, assembled reasonably easily, looks good, and is an all around good purchase.
