A VERY COMFORTABLE BOOT
I wear the same size in shoes and boots, and these Nortiv 8 boots is one of the first that is TRUE to size that I have found. Comfort is my word for this boot! The outer soles are quiet. The support is very comfortable. You can lace these to fit snug & secure on your feet, yet the padding keeps them comfortable around your ankle and foot. I wish I had these during my backpacking years as walking is very easy going, light, and I forget I’m wearing “boots”! They may be a little warm during the summer months, but the secure feeling and comfort they provide more than make up for that tiny inconvenience. Besides, I’m wearing boots, not sneakers or sandals! As for longevity…..I don’t know that part of the story yet. They appear well made. Double stitched in stress areas, and I liked the value of a relatively inexpensive boot with this level of comfort, that I had to have another pair in a different color! Thus far, I am very happy with this foot ware and the value that Nortiv 8 provides in this style of boot.

Very high quality and inexpensive shoes
Very high quality shoes, just as capable as the Columbia boots I’ve worn. Made to a very good standard, all stitches are even, the boots are comfortable and soft, the sole is quite hard. I hope that in rain and snow they will not let me down. The size corresponds to what was ordered. I recommend to buy

Solid boot for the price
True to size and pretty comfortable. Look well made and performed fine on a day hike. Did rub/irritate one area inside the boot where seams meet, hopefully this will improve with some wear. Decent boot for the sixty bucks.ð¤·ââï¸

VERY impressed for a shoe at this pricepoint
I bought 3 pairs of these hiking boots for a 5-day backpacking trip to Big Bend National Park with my teenage boys (well, 14 and 12) and a group of about 20 other scouts. At a 50$ price point per pair, these were amazing. We had hikes every day – anywhere from 4-mile round trip hikes with little elevation change, to summiting Mt Emory which is around a 8 mile round trip hike with major elevation change. We had hikes with just a day-pack with water (camelback) as well as our big Emory hike while toting 40-70lb backpacks for overnight camping (you need to carry-in all your water which is a majority of the weight). These boots were great. I got a size 12 standard width(in army green), my boys a 10 standard (brown) and 7.5 standard (black). My 14-yo has flat feet, and I initially got him the Wide version of the boot, but he said there was too much sliding in the boot, so we exchanged for the standard width and it was great for him. We all used thick wool socks while hiking. These boots were SUPER comfortable, extremely durable and worked great. While a couple of the other kids that went with us had blisters and such from their other more expensive boots, my boys and I had ZERO foot issues. We broke the boots in with a couple neighborhood walks prior to going, but the shoes by default are good to go I think. Zero materials issues while using them, great ankle support and if it matters, my 16yo daughter prior to us going was jealous of my 12yo son’s pair (he got the black color) because she thought they were “super cute”.As far as the soles of the boots, quite rugged grip, we were hiking on everything from flat sand next to the Rio Grande in Elena Canyon, all the way to jagged rock, gravel, mixed substrate etc on other hikes. The soles gripped everything fine, no slipping or issues with that. I highly recommend these boots for any recreational hiking anyone may do.

Comfortable, waterproof, true to size
I was looking for a light duty low cut work boot to replace a worn out pair of Merrell’s. These fit the bill. They are lightweight, comfortable, reasonable support. They fit true to size once laced. I’d say they are medium+ width. I wore them all day first day in wet conditions. My feet stayed dry and did not experience any discomfort during the break-in. So far a very good value.

Just OK for me
I have been wearing these for five months now hiking in forest, desert, grasslands, rocky ocean bluffs. They are a little taller than my usual hiking boots so provide great ankle protection. The top lace holders are closed not open quick lace style. This makes the boots harder to put on and take off. The uppers are nylon cloth and man made materials. I did not find these boots to be water proof; they failed the rainy day hike test. The soles are thin so not great in rocky country. They are comfortable walking in with OK breathability. They feel more like high-top sneakers. The looks are just ok. So OK for lite hiking; no rough stuff and not a work boot. I will not purchase again.

SO WARM AND COMFORTABLE I BOUGHT ANOTHER PAIR
These Hiking boots are terrific… Very Warm, Comfortable and DURABLE. I have used these on the Roller Coaster section of the AT which is more like a rock quarry than a trail and the durability, grip and support was amazing. I have hiked in rain, snow and mud and never get wet PLUS the ankle support protects against twists on slippery rocks. Many miles walked on roadways also and still performing great after a couple of years of use. Tread wears well too. Fit is as described and ordered my usual size plus 1/2 for thicker wool socks. Loved them so much I bought a second pair.

After reading many reviews and the note on the item page saying that they generally fit to size, I picked up a pair of 9.5 black boots (with some grey trim) as I dig anything in black. If Batman wore a hiking shoe, this would be it. The stitching is well done and the fabric looks great – they don’t look poorly made by any means. They appear to be water proof/resistant up to about half-way up the boot, at which point the water would seep in through the top – they aren’t hip gaitors or water boots, so I wouldn’t expect them to handle much more than a few inches deep puddle/mud. They feel super comfortable underneath my feet and around the sides – nothing awkwardly poking into the arch of my foot or the sides of my ankles. While I did pick my usual size, they do feel *ever so slightly roomy* – but I am wearing super thin socks and if I were wearing a thicker pair, I’m sure the shoe would be filled out a bit more. Also, I feel like if I got a smaller size AND wore a thicker pair of socks, I would find it slightly cramped. Also! Hiking tends to make your feet a bit bigger from the bloodflow so I think it’s a good call to settle on a little roomy rather than a perfect fit when you’re at home on a couch. I like how easily they go on/come off – you don’t have to do much lacing/delacing or do any forcing of your foot into it. You can feel that the sole is made from different materials in different spots – treads are made of a rubber to give you grip where the rest of the sole is made from a harder material to make the soles last longer. Toe cap for a bit of protection/grip/easier ascents. Comes with an extra pair of laces. The photo on the item page does it fair justice but if I get around to pulling out my camera, I’ll add a few photos of the shoes before I begin destroying them. All in all – super happy with my purchase and I trust they will serve me well on my thru-hike of the WCT in a month. Thanks for the sick boots, Nortiv8!
