This replaced another model that I had a few years ago. I chose this because, over time, the type that clamps over the rear view mirror itself loosened too often and eventually broke. This model is more secure, but it’s phone clamp, while secure, requires 2 hands to open and close, not a good option for my delivery job, frequently removing my phone. Fortunately, the single release clamp from the old holder was compatible with this model, and I was able to swap it out. Do watch the vid, read the instructions, as you need to assemble the pieces.

LIKE: Sturdy construction overall. Tight grip on phone. Doesn’t disturb mirror position. Neither phone holder or phone is likely to fall. Excellent viewing position for phone. Out of the way of driver and passenger.DISLIKE: Extremely force required to place phone in or remove phone from cradle. No release lever or button either. No assembly instructions whatever.CAVEATS: The mounting clamp attaches BEHIND the mirror NOT on the edges of the mirror. This may not work for every type of vehicle. In my 2009 Mazda 3, it impeded the day/night lever. To solve this I rotated the clamp from 6 o’clock to 7 o’clock. Problem was that at the first bump, the clamp drooped back to 6 o’clock. To solve that, I had to drill out part of the clamp (voiding any warranty) and install a set screw to keep the clamp from slipping on the mirror attachment link. (See red arrow in photo.)CONCLUSION:If there was an easy way to put the phone in and later remove the phone this would be the perfect phone holder solution.

I had a terrible experience with this item I gave up after the second one broke the exact same way the first one did ..the first on the first day I got it the second lasted two days

Solid Phone Holder!!!!!
This is a very solid, relatively well built phone holder. It attaches on your rear view mirror allowing your phone to be mounted in your normal driving line of sight, reducing the possibility of taking your eyes off the road. Unit was easily to mount, with a variety of adjustable positions. Phone is mounted in a spring type of mechanism which keeps phone securely seated……Solid phone holder!!!!!
