About as disappointing as it gets I’ve gotten into slouch socks a lot lately and have tried several from several brands. At this point I’ve got a good idea of some metrics about what I like in them.1) The ribbing is a little narrower than other brands. This gives more but lighter ripples when they’re scrunched down. I think I’d have rather had bolder ripples for my own style. Minus.2) My fantasy slouch sock from decades ago doesn’t have a very thick cuff. This one when stretched out and pushed down into the scrunch is pretty thin so the scrunches go most of the way to the top of the sock. Plus.3) They’re short. I was expecting them to come up to my knee crease if I wanted to wear them as knee highs or as boots. This brand’s photographs imply that they would be tall enough that when partially scrunched down there would be a good length of ripples up to mid calf. This was not my experience at all. The ripples as depicted partially scrunched aren’t even close, and I’m not convinced any of the photographs are of this actual product or if so are so heavily photoshopped as to be meaningless. Hard Minus.4) The bright color works well. To see the visually interesting detail like the ruffles in the scrunches, a lighter color helps showcase them better. Plus.5) The ribbing is a little tight. When pulled up to the “knee,” the ribs are almost entirely invisible. When pushed down to slouch, the slouches aren’t nearly as bold as expected. The material of the sock is also criminally thin. I’ve gone through a *lot* of slouchy socks and they all are much heavier weight, with bolder ribs and much looser stacks in the tube. Only once have I been cursed with slouch socks this thin, and I essentially threw them back for being grossly misrepresentative of the photos and of thin, dubious quality weight. Hard Minus.6) Finally price. These pairs asked for $9 USD. My other heavy weight, comfortable, KNEE HIGH, bold stacked, five-star pairs ran $9-10 each. For the inferior quality in so many metrics compared to the exact same price for the best I’ve ever had, these are no comparison. Minus minus minus. To say I was disappointed in these is an understatement. They’re thin, short, and cheap with weak slouches at an inflated price. At best the photographs misrepresent the product by creative cuts or edits, and at worse they’re not even the same product at all. There’s one with thick ropey slouches and heavy weight that cannot possibly be this sock. The photo with the sock at three different heights in the knee high perspective has very clear tracks for the slouches that are fairly transparent where the slouches pucker and fold out (as is expected and typical of this style) that I just frankly didn’t see on the piece that was delivered. I typically only give 2 stars for poor quality and reserve a 1 for gross misrepresentation of trash, and only downgraded it during the writing of this review when I saw it put to paper just how not-as-described-or-expected these arrived.Take your $9 and find a different vendor. These are not the slouch socks you’re looking for.
nice fit, and reasonably soft These are nice. I’ve had slouch socks where the foot part is thin and uncomfortable. These are actually nice. The pink color I got is pretty bold, which is fun and a great way to add a pop to winter clothes that tend to be a bit darker. Love them.
