NOT Compatible with the new AT&T Network Change on 23FEB22 I liked the way this Bison is designed as I wanted a rugged phone and although this was my first Android phone, it was easy to set up and the screen was responsive, the fingerprint reader and facial recognition works well and the screen resolution was quite good. I didn’t test the camera options very much but they worked well from what I could tell but didn’t really examine the quality of the photos beyond the basics. One negative is that this phone isn’t able to use the 5GHZ wireless band, meaning it will not be nearly as fast at downloading as most modern smartphones when using WiFi when it is confined to only using the mere 2.4GHZ band. Otherwise, the big problem was that I was led to believe this phone would work with the AT&T network, as one reviewer claimed it does work with AT&T. Well, sure, it works until 23FEB22 but it uses the 3G for voice with AT&T and so I was told by 3 different AT&T people that it was not going to be compatible going forward with AT&T. Now, supposedly it could be “provisioned” to work with AT&T network, and maybe this is true if one managed to get in touch with the right technically trained AT&T person. I had to talk with AT&T to even make my first call, but was told they made it work only until 23FEB. I decided to return this Bison phone versus end up having problems with my provider. I suspect this Bison would work with most service providers other than AT&T. One reason I purchased it was due to it being supposedly compatible with most every network in the world. The battery life was good and it tested to be around a 5100 mAh battery with accubattery app, and it would last me about 48 hours. The already applied screen protector worked quite well and was barely noticeable. Now, my model seemed confused and was the Bison 2021 model with the 5000 mAh battery and with 8G Ram and 128 storage. My model doesn’t seem to exist in the sense it was not the X10G version or the 6000+ battery version, etc. I suspect I got a model that was in transition and thus wasn’t really ready for prime time until some more changes are made to it to make it work with providers like AT&T. Yet, I was impressed overall with the quality and functionality of this phone for what it would do, and would consider the purchase of another phone from this same company in the future . It needs to work with the 5GHZ WiFi band and function with the AT&T network and I suspect this may already be the case with their 2022 models.
Incompatible with 4G LTE AT&T Updated Review: I am returning this phone due to the incompatibility of 4G LTE . In the description it says it is but I took it to my carrier last night and it’s not, unfortunately. That’s literally the only thing that is iffy about this phone, other than that, this phone is by far the coolest and best phone I have ever used and bought . I’m going to miss this phone so much. But without the data compatibility, I can’t use it. If it were compatible, I could still use it .Original review : This phone is SPECTACULAR! I’m using it right now and everything about it is amazing.I switched from an iPhone to this phone, never in a million years did I ever think or even consider, switching from Apple. I was a hardcore Apple fan. But, my iPhone wasn’t working properly, I was tired of Apple. I wanted something better and being on a budget, I found this phone and before I bought it, I watched an unboxing on YouTube and looked at three reviews for their other phones .Everyone was pretty pleased, so I took the risk and I’m OVERJOYED to have this phone!! It’s truly amazing! I’m forever grateful! Best phone EVER! The 4 cameras won me over. I love this phone!
So far so good. Great phone. Great quality for less money. I bought this phone because I wanted something that cost less than others with similar features. It’s got good camera quality, built rugged, good battery life, water resistant. What I don’t like about this model is that it doesn’t allow you to have 2 SIM cards and a Micro SD card at the same time, you are forced to go with either having 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card and the Mico SD card, I’ve had another Umidigi phone before that accepted all three at once and it was a lot cheaper than the Bison Pro and it was released years before so I don’t know why they couldn’t make the Bison Pro with the same capability to accept both SIM cards and a Micro SD card at the same time.Despite the things that this phone lacks, it’s still a great phone to have. I have the 8GB ram version, it’s smooth. I’ve seen a few hitches but not much and it could have been the apps themselves and not the processing.
