Outstanding Engraver for Anodized Aluminum
I’ve been using the XTOOLS F1 for engraving anodized aluminum, and it’s fantastic. The setup was simple, and the software is incredibly user-friendly. I was able to start creating high-quality engravings right away. The hook in air purifier for in home use is fantastic. I bought an air quality monitor and no issues at all in my room. After more than 100 engravings, the performance is still top-notch. Each piece is precise, showing off the detailed work the F1 can perform. The user interface is straightforward, making it easy to adjust settings and ensure each engraving comes out just as intended.

It’s an addictive machine for beginners
I’ve been playing around with this ever since it arrived. Was supposed to be a Sunday delivery and it took til Tuesday night with the annoying delays. Happy with the laser. It’s my first laser. The software is easy to learn, the material testing is a must for beginners, it is included in the software so don’t go spending money on etsy selling material testing files. Just go to the mode you want to do and insert an array and select material testing. This way you figure out the power and speed you should run the machine to engrave or cut or score best on the material you are using. It can cut through thin 1/8th inch plywood at 4 mm/sec and 100% power. I’ve been cutting shapes out of amazon shipping boxes too. Possibilities are endless and watching the machine do its work is a lot of fun, especially in the score mode, because it does things fast in that mode. Buy one, teach your young ones how to use it and create things. Just one thing, Never leave the machine unattended while its working. Materials can flame up and catch fire if you have the wrong settings. I’m happy with my purchase. Now placed an order for their P2 machine as well. Going to come in handy building my patch displays.

First laser ever
I bought my F1 laser a month ago. I let it sit on the floor so completely overwhelmed, worrying that I may start a fire or something. I can tell you from experience that the F1 has built in safety measures to make sure that doesn’t happen. It is also very portable if you are wanting to take it to craft/trade shows. The software is very user friendly. The customer support is good as well. The X-tool community in its own is amazing. So many people out there helping each other with settings or projects, couldn’t have asked for a better support system. I became so enthralled with the F1 that I bought the S1, but am still waiting on shipping confirmation with that. The F1 itself is built well and performs well. I would suggest the F1 to anyone looking to buy a laser.

Donât bother
I have had the laser since June 10th and have yet to be able to use it. I have done everything to get it functional with no luck. I called for support and spoke to a very nice man that told me I would need 2nd level tech and would receive a call. I did not get a call, I got an email asking for pictures and videos and receipts etc. I responded to the email and have still have not received help so back it goes. Iâll purchase a Laser Pecker 4, where I know from owning the 2 I will receive good service. I tried to give xTool a chance and this is the result. On a good note.. it was packaged beautifully and is a very nice machine⦠I just will I could have used it.

First laser engraver
Machine came intact. It was very securely pack, all the components of the machine came with its own instructional books (filter, laser engraver, extender and rotary tool) that are very simple but clear. It’s really easy to assemble and if you have doubts, on their page they have a lot of tutorials that are very useful. Very exited to use it.

Great machine
I love this machine to engrave with, it’s a money maker. It has its limitation with metals, but there are ways around it. Waiting on my F1 Ultra to come in.

Good portable laser
I purchased my F1 laser with my own money. This review comes after many months of use. I like this laser I could recommend it without hesitation, but there are some drawbacks.I like the fact that this laser has both a diode and an infrared laser in it. I wish it had larger than a 4 in workspace. As far as the speed accuracy and quality of the work produced with this laser I can say nothing bad about any of that. I like the fact that I can take this to a craft show with me using a battery power supply whether I’m indoors or out of doors I can use the laser plus the air filtration system and not have to worry about having issues.Again I mentioned it would be nice to have larger than a 4-in work area. xTool gives an option for this with the slide attachment. For full disclosure I did a different review for xTool I was supplied the slide attachment at no cost. I cannot do a review on here because it was shipped directly to me I didn’t have to buy it and get reimbursed. What I will mention here is the slide extension is very nice in the fact that I can put multiple pieces on the slide and do them all at once. This makes using the slide extension very helpful. Prior to purchasing the F1 laser I watched many many reviews on the laser and many many reviews on the slide extension. Strictly talking about the slide extension at this point. There were many of the reviews that I watched were X tool provided the slide to the reviewer and the reviewer mentioned that they’re going to be completely unbiased in their review. After having used the X tool extension for several months I personally question how unbiased all of these reviewers are. One of the things that’s touted about the F1 laser is its speed. Being a galvo style laser it is fast. None of the reviews I watched that were supposedly unbiased mentioned the fact I’m about to bring up. I had a project I had designed for the F1. The power for the laser was 100%. The speed was 750 and the lines per centimeter was 300. I accepted a job to create a hundred of these items based on the settings I just mentioned. This project took less than 2 minutes per item to complete. I made a jig where I could put six of these items onto the slide extension. Being able to put six items on the slide at less than 2 minutes per item I could very easily complete the order. When I put the slide extension onto the laser I noticed the speed dropped from 750 to 165. When I attempted to adjust the speed the maximum speed allowed was 165. I ran the project on one item. The laser almost completely burned through the item I put on the slide extension. So what had happened the speed was automatically adjusted with no warning, but the power was not equally adjusted. So the slide extension when you use it doesn’t just position your item under the galvo style laser head, the laser head moves less and the slide extension moves as part of the engraving process. Since the slide moves much much slower than the galvo style laser head your speed is drastically reduced. As I mentioned previously I watched many many reviews of the slide extension. Not a single one of these unbiased reviews mentioned that when using the slide extension your job speed is dramatically reduced. In this case the speed went from 750 to 165. I looked through the documentation and I saw nothing noting this would happen. So I question how unbiased these other reviews are. I’m sure after reading this xtool will probably not ask me to do any more reviews or give me any more items. But I can truly say I am being 100% honest and 100% unbiased unlike these other reviews.Another issue I have with the F1 laser is the fact that yes you can use it with light burn but it’s very complicated to use some of the functionality. You can’t instantaneously switch and go from diode to IR laser in lightburn as you can in the XCS software. Some would say just use the XCS software. I reluctantly use the software and I can truly say having used both XCS and Lightburn, lightburn software is leaps and bounds ahead of the XCS software. As the saying goes when you get something for free you usually get what you pay for. The XCS software is nowhere near as advanced or user friendly as lightburn. So being stuck having to use XCS software is a major setback for the F1 laser.Overall I like the F1 laser I use it regularly it does what it’s designed to do quite well. There are setbacks that make it less than desirable to use as well. For the cost of the F1 laser I would expect a larger work surface I would expect to be more compatible with other pieces of software. Maybe that’s more a lightburn issue, I don’t know. Just know that to use the F1 laser to its fullest extent you’ll want to use the XCS software.

Small but powerful laser
It’s so portable that I even take it to work and use it. It’s great for dog tags as well as small wood projects under 4 inches.

Yvette helped me a lot. I thank him very much. I believe that you answered all my questions most sincerely and professionally. They work entirely focused on customer satisfaction. They are definitely professionals. I definitely recommend Xtool. They accept that the machines may be faulty, but they definitely do not say it is your problem. They offer many options to solve the problem. From the free return option to sending a brand new product instead. I am very glad that I bought xtool. I thank them very much.

Why a great little machine. I brought this with me to a craft fair and made custome engraved items for my customers. Not only did I add a service no one else had on the spot, it became a bit of an attraction to bring people to my booth.I had a small issue with usb connectivity with my MacBook and tech support was able to solve my issue without a problem.

10W blue diode no faster than an xTool D1 as expected but the IR laser was far slower than advertised by xTool in videos and in material settings page.Brass was an unbearable 5mm/s to get an engraving rather than the advertised 300m/s, that’s about 1.6% of the speed.Bare aluminum sheet (3k, 5k, and 6k series aluminum tested, which cover pretty much every aluminum type/grade one comes across or uses on a given day) was 200mm/s to show a uniform mark only visible at some angles, 100mm/s for a light mark but visible at any angle, and 2mm/s for an engrave which can be felt as a different surface and looks dark enoughy to stand out on the aluminum sheet compared to the advertised 600mm/s on their settings page which had absolutely no effect on bare aluminum and is as low as 0.3% of the advertised speed for an engrave.Stainless steel (300 or 400 series used in kitchenware and knives) I was able to get an acceptable dark , at some angles, annealing mark at 100mm/s but no engrave even at 2mm/s which is still only 18% of the advertised 550mm/s.It did work with Lightburn but framing is rendered useless because it just jogs the laser dot once like in a gantry laser, not framing like a galvo as it should so I wouldn’t cal it “supported” as there is no successful way of accurately mark on a specific location on a surface like I could with the red crosshair on the D1, it turns the laser dot off once framing is complete making it impossible to adjust a workpiece to accurately frame on a specific location. XCS is far better to use with this unit but if you are used to Lightburn and all of its control and capability both in design (which I personally never use but are very aware of and familiar with) and in laser control settings, you’ll find XCS is severly lacking to be a got to software.I loved my D1 pro and had very high hopes for this, but xTool oversold its capabilities unlike their blue diode machines.

Very good quality. The software is easy to use and the machine speed is fast. Almost all materials can be engraved, I guess. Itâs portable and convenient to carry. Not very heavy
