8 reviews for 6 in 1 Cordless Hot Wire Foam Cutter Kit, Upgraded Hot Knife Foam Cutter, LED Light & USB-C Charging, 1022℉ Foam Cutter Tool for Styrofoam Carving, Crafting
Good product for the price Special 47th anniversary project with my retired Naval brothersâ¦whiskey bottle and 3 glasses in a custom cedar box. Bought several 2â sheets of camera/medical equipment dense packing foam to line and protect contents. Used the giant U-shaped wand, which required connecting a strand of included wire between the distal looped endsâ¦easy to do. Heated up within seconds but cutting isnât what you expect. As you cut, the portion of the wire cuts then cools but the ends of the wire on both sides remains hot. So as I cut in a downward motion, I also added a sawing motion from left to right and back. The smaller 2â wand is good for sculpting but I didnât need that feature. I trimmed out a template on a piece of cardboard from an Amazon box, marked on the black foam with a silver sharpie then used the single prong attachment to cut out what I traced on the foam. This was the better attachment as it really sliced through the foam like a hot knife through a stick of butter. The handle is good for about 30 minutes of use, the white led lights will flash indicating it needs charging which can be done with the included usb C cable. Plug into the middle of the handle by the thumb on/off switch. Be sure to wipe the heating element down after cooling.
doesn’t cut all kinds of foam I got this foam cutter for working with foam rubber to cut couch cushions. It did not cut through the foam rubber. I found this foam cutter is best for styrofoam, such as the kind you get as packing materials. I think the product description should be more detailed to let the consumer know the possibilities for use as well as the limitations. Now that I know what this cutter will and will not do, I can use it accordingly. It is easy to use. The cordless feature is wonderful since it gives you more freedom of movement. It does heat up quickly and has a decent battery life. If that battery life is good for everybody, depends on what you are crafting and how detailed it is. If using this for 15 to 20 consecutive minutes, obviously the battery will drain much faster which can be a pain if you are doing something intricate that is time consuming. Otherwise, for small jobs, the battery life is good. The various attachments are very helpful for creating specific shapes. I like that you are not limited by having only one tip. I rate this at 5 stars for quality, convenience, ease of use with the correct foam medium and value for the price.
Works well This is easy to use and I like that it’s cordless so I don’t need to be close to an outlet. You probably want to use this outside though because you’re essentially burning it to cut so it’s going to stink and you don’t want that in the house. However, it does make cutting through foam much easier and faster.
does not work for more than a few minutes. this thing works for a couple minutes – cuts slow. this is only for small projects, NOT FOR BIGGER CUTTING PROJECTS. after cutting a minute it cooler down and you have to wait until its heated up again. and then another cutting it is already empty and needs to be charged. i was cutting think 2 inch foam
Nice to have in the craft arsenal I am a chronic crafter, and I’m surprised it took me this long to add a foam cutter to my supplies. As others have stated, it heats up pretty quickly and being cordless means you have total freedom of movement. The battery life could be longer, but that’s every cordless appliance/tool. I didn’t use all of the attachments, but I can see that they’d be useful for different projects depending on what you’re working on, and they cut through styrofoam just fine. Overall not a bad tool to have in your arsenal if you find yourself doing a lot of craft stuff.
The right tool for the job. Has plenty of power to cut heavier duty stuff, though it takes some patience. Very nicely designed. Takes a while to charge though.

Quit working after a few cuts.
Ended up buying a cheaper one with a plug . It has potential being wireless but doesn’t have the quality.
