Makes quick work of opening boxes, safe to use. Not the best for cutting into cardboard
This is a good safe knife to use when you are trying to cup open boxes. I normally need one that can be used to cut boxes to make them easier to throw away. It makes quick work of cutting the packaging tape but it is safe enough to not cut you which is good. Regardless it safety retracts and stores the plastic blade. You have to actually press and hold the button down to extend and retract the blade. This makes it so the knife cannot close by itself by accident when you are cutting. You can flip the blade around but the material has yet to go blunt. The blade itself can also be easily replaced all you need to do is press and unlock the cover to expose the blade. You then can replace it with a new blade. You need to replace it with a slice blade. What is nice about this blade is that only half it is actually out so when the one side gets dull you just need to turn it around and presto you have another blade to use. Again the blade has yet to have issues. The grip is pretty secure and there is a belt hook so you can put it on your belt without worrying about it falling off. You have to find some kind of ring or hook to attach to it though. It is not included. This can cut most small boxes as well as tape which is great for me because I always have a ton of boxes and mailers I need to open. The orange color is not bad but it see darker near the tip piece. Because it has no real metal, it is not prone to rusting. This means it can get wet and you can easily clean/dry it out without fear of damaging it. Overall I think this device is pretty nice. It is definitely a good utility knife to have around as it is safe, sturdy, and cuts through packaging tape without worrying about cutting yourself.

Wonderful for opening packages
I gave this only 4 stars because I loved this handy box cutter that my daughter-in-law purchased. When I received mine the “blade” wasn’t as sharp and didn’t perform as well as hers so I had to invest in a package of the expensive blades to replace from the beginning. Other than the blade, I absolutely love this box opener. Very safe and easy to use and break down boxes for recycling.

I’ve been using Slice products for years after I met their founder in person. I can’t remember the last time I used a metal blade utility knife. My family and I use these daily to open mail and packages. They cut well, the blades last forever, and they’re very ergonomic.

I love this box cutter!Smooth, safe and sharp! However, keep in mind the blade is white. I originally threw it out thinking it was a cardboard piece for display purpose. Iâm not the brightest bulb – haha.

Does a great job while it works
Does a great job while new. It took a matter of weeks for the slider to start to get stuck in the open position and need fussing with to close. Opens boxes like a charm and is great for clumsy people like me who are accident prone. Just wish it held up longer.

Wasn’t expecting much with ceramic blade but it works Brill. Carved up loads and loads of cardboard easily for the â»ï¸ recycling. Happy days. Just ordered some replacement blades for it but having said that, the one which came pre installed shows no signs of getting blunt and of course if it does its easy to turn around and refit

Jest ono wykonane oczywiÅcie tak specjalnie, aby chroniÄ produkty znajdujÄ ce siÄ w opakowaniu. Idealnie nadaje siÄ w zwiÄ zku z tym do przecinania taÅmy, otwierania pudeÅek, ale mocniejszych opakowaÅ nim nie otworzymy.

I had to break down a few big piles of cardboard boxes (no small amount were from all my amazon orders haha) so I ordered this to speed things up. I laid down a thick piece or cardboard so I wouldnât put the blade into the ground. It is super sharp, cardboard and the paper tape usually used by Amazon cut with very little pressure. It had some issues getting caught on plastic shipping tape but it cut through in the end. Not only did I break the boxes down but I cut the flat boxes down to size so they could be bundled up with twine for the recycling. In my opinion you should get the one with a locking blade, unless you are really worried about forgetting to retract it.Thanks for reading! Ich habe bisher immer mit einer Schere die Pakete geöffnet und mich dabei schon ein paarmal geschnitten. Dann dachte ich mir, es muss doch noch eine andere Lösung finden. Und so fand ich diesen Kartonschneider, mit dem das Paketöffnen so unglaublich einfach und angenehm ist. Es ist überhaupt kein Vergleich zu früher. Ich kann jedem diesen Kartonschneider empfehlen. Ich habe ihn nun auch schon häufig verwendet.
