Great tool Excellent finish and knurling. Only use it to hold the fitting in place. Do NOT use this and a single wrench to squeeze tighten/loosen your fitting or you might snap off the nipple. Use two wrenches as nature intended 🙂
Does not fit compression stop threads The threads appear to be FPT- too coarse to fit a 3/8 compression fitting on angle stops. It’s a beautiful piece of useless aluminum. I will be returning it.
Plumbers generally invest n these; this one is very affordable I got this for light duty use around my own house. Plumbers seem to have iron ones that they can use hundreds of times, but I just need to be able to change out angle stop valves at home, and this aluminum wrench should be plenty. I’ll be careful not to cross thread it.They say this tool isn’t strictly necessary, but I need all the help I can get doing plumbing jobs as a novice. If a plumber has space in his toolbox for it, I’m glad to have it handy for my own use.
Helpful tool… I ended up having to change out all of my water valves in the house and this wrench really saved me. It’s very durable, small and mighty. Great quality tool that is definitely good to have handy. The paint doesn’t chip off and it doesn’t bend when using.
Bad Experience So, I got this tool to make changing out the angle stop valves at all my fixtures easy, but it does not fit anything have. This experience has been nothing but a headache. The tool is not big enough to fit on a 3/8″ angle stop valve and the thread pitch is different making it useless for my needs. Out of curiosity I took it to my thread checker tool and the 1/2″ bolt thread will fit in the half inch end, and a 3/8″ bolt almost fits the other end.I reached out to the supplier to see if I may have gotten the wrong one sent by mistake or it was just machined wrong and got past quality control (it happens). They requested pictures of the tool, so I took pictures of the tool with both ends near a ruler to give reference to the size of the openings. Well, that wasn’t good enough and they asked for pictures of the valve I was trying to use it on and was informed that they sell thousands of these tools, and nobody has had any issue with it. I sent them pictures of the tool not working on the 3/8″ compression angle stop valve I was needing the tool for. They came back and told me to find a way to measure the fitting and they would give my measurements to their engineering department.Sorry but if it doesn’t fit and I show pictures of it not working, shouldn’t they be asking if I want a refund or to return it for a replacement? There is a possibility that some people haven’t even used the tool before reviewing it and all the thousands of this tool they have sold doesn’t fit their angle stop valves. I finally gave up on customer service and decided to take the hit on this piece of metal. I have wasted too much time trying to get this tool problem corrected because every communication with the seller is a 24 hour wait for a reply that doesn’t change the fact the tool doesn’t fit. Do not buy it and don’t contact customer service unless you want to be made to feel you are stupid. This has been my experience however your experience may be different.
Love this tool and design This is my second angle stop wrench, and I love it better than my first! My first was made of steel (prone to rust on the unpainted/uncoated threads); whereas this is aluminum, so no rust AND is lighter. I also like the knurled ends that adds a little extra grip compared to the smooth ones…sometimes hands are a little wet. Lastly, I like the red color…easy to spot on the floor so its not left behind…easy to spot in the tool box. No regrets.
Works Great – Just Be Careful About Cross Threading This is a neat little tool… something I had never seen before, but it would have come in handy over the years. The quality is good but be careful attaching it to your angle stop. Being made from aluminum, it would be easy to cross thread it.
Works well Good tool, made well, and works great. Helps support and stabilize the valve and the whole assembly while you loosen or tighten the nut so you don’t twist or otherwise damage the other pipes or soldered joints. It also helps keep the outlet that the tool threads on to pointed in the direction you want while tightening the nut so your hoses end up routed properly.
