Good value range finder
this is the first RF I have purchased – just moved from FL to a mountain course. The Callaway RF is very easy to use, locks on to the target very quickly and the vibration is a very useful. Small and light, I carry it in my pocket – tho’ it has a powerful magnet that can attach to the cart. I am delighted with the purchase and would recommend it. Priced right – high quality and very functional.

Top notch lower priced range finder, good features and accuracy, the case could use a rethink
My old Leopold rangefinder from 2014 finally died. My wife me this Callaway model for Fatherâs Day – same one I got her for Motherâs Day!
Itâs a really nice ranger finder but I simply donât like the bulky zipper case. I donât trust the elastic band on the case to hold the case shut when unzipped.
I far prefer the magnetic closure on my old 2014 Leupold rangefinder.
Pro:
-simplicity of the controls, locks on the target quickly
-clear visual field, easy focus adjust
-solid vibration feedback
-accurate based on comparisons with other golf buddies on the course with different range finders
-solid value for a very well made range finder
– slope can be turned off for use in tournaments
Con:
-I like to wear my range finder on my belt – the hard case is bulky and kind of goofy with the elastic band closure for access when the case is unzipped
-little room in the case for a spare battery – I keep a spare battery in my bag now, not in the case.
-plastic carabiner is junk, a quick way to lose the range finder. I replaced it with a stainless carabiner (see photo)
-came with a generic battery
The case issues are more of a personal choice and they might not bother other folks. I wore my circa 2014 Leupold on my belt and it was better designed for my use with a zipper pocket on the bottom under the main case and a solid locking magnetic flip closure.
Even after 8+ years of use, the Leupold case was better designed and more compact than this Callaway version.
But the Leupold cost $400 in 2014 and I think this new Callaway model is easier to read and quicker to respond for less than half the price. Hope that helps!

Perfect range finder!
This is actually the second of this exact range finder I purchased. I think we can all guess why. It was left on the cart because Iâm a dummy! Unfortunately I never got it back but loved it so much I had to buy it again. It gives accurate distances compared to other range finders my friends have. Itâs very easy to use and clear to see. Just adjust the scope when you first get it and youâre ready to go. Knowing the exact distance has really improved my golf game because thereâs no more guessing. I know EXACTLY how far anything on the course is, and Iâve also used that to know exactly how far I hit each of my clubs. An absolute game changer. The magnet is nice and strong and has never fallen off over many bumps. Just donât forget it on the cart like me and youâll be happy with the purchase!

Good product, needs image stabilization
Looks like a quality build and more accurate than my Garmin golf watch.
Pros: Accurate distance, strong magnet.
Cons: difficult to hold it steady enough to get readings from distant pins.
Reading outbuildings or people on the course is easy at any distance, and reading pin distance from 140 yards or so seems accurate. None of my friends or I could get it to consistently lock onto pins over 150 yards away though; it would just give a reading for trees behind the pin. I tried using the magnet and sticking it to a cart upright to get a steady enough image to lock, which worked some of the time.
Have never used a rangefinder before, so maybe this is common. If so, the winner is going to be the company that uses camera tech to present a more steady image at distance.
Overall I find this range finder useful enough to be worth the price.

Great range finder. Iâve had 2 other brands and this is by far the best
My son borrowed my previous range finder on a golf trip and did what he said he wouldnât doâ¦. Left it on the cart and lost it. It worked well and he bought me a comparable but different replacement that frankly was not good.
I recently decided to replace that range finder and decided Iâd try out this callaway after reading the positive reviews. After using it on 6-7 rounds I have to say, I love this range finder. So much better than the previous 2 range finders I had.
1) The magnet is perfect. Holds well to the cart
2) Has great zoom to the target
3) Locks on a flag very easily, even when Iâm wobbly or my passenger is shaking the cart
4) Accurate Slope
5) Perfect vibration on the locked target
6) Easy read out
7) Solid construction, not cheap and fragile plastic like many budget range finders
You can spend $150+ more on the big brand range finder, but this is just as good and Iâm very happy with this purchase.
By the way, I gave my son my old rangefinder⦠we got a good laugh at that. Cheers!
