Good. What I appreciate is its appearance when not in use—a thin, square shape that is easy to overlook. The texture of the cover resembles carbon fiber, although in reality, it’s just relatively thick plastic. However, this does align with its price point.
Slick And Attractive But Needs Stronger Adhesion For Single-Handed Operation I drive a Chevy Equinox and found some major shortcomings with this cellphone holder. Trying to use one hand to secure my phone was pretty much impossible. Why?! While the adhesive quality of its silicone base did a good job to secure the unit from shifting sideways and front to back on the dash, the spring tension of its clam shell design would ultimately win over its grip on my dashboard when prying its cover open to secure my cellphone. Since any effort for single-handed operation would always result in its detachment from the dash, I have to detach the whole unit first, then using both hands, open the cover wide enough to secure the phone before replacing it back in its previous location on my dashboard. When you have to repeat this process several times a day you’ll begin to realize how annoying it can be. It could also use a bit of a redesign to hold cellphones nestled within protective cases a little better. Mine just barely fits. On a more positive note … the unit’s minimalistic profile, carbon fiber cover look and slick design make it an attractive addition on my dashboard. Problem is, I purchased it for a more functional purpose. I am disappointed that as is, it needs better adhesive strength to make it more convenient to use.
