Still need to clean it but it’s helpful.
This silicone and plastic splatter cover protects your microwave from bursting food particles and keeps it clean. You will have to clean the cover but it’s far easier than the microwave. The cover is also dishwasher safe and has a hanging hook. The rim and top of the cover are plastic, the collapsible sides are silicone. The only thing is the covers plastic handle gets hot when you microwave for over 1.5 minutes. It does not secure to your plate, it just sits loosely on top. I read you can also turn the lid upside down and use this as a strainer, which is very interesting because I plan on using this on our boat. It’s multifunctional:) I also used this to cover a bowl, the bowl was not as tall as the splatter cover fully popped open, so there was air around the bowl. It’s easy to collapse this splatter cover or store it as it is in the microwave so you won’t forget to use it the next time you heat up your food. It’s priced competitively at $7. I recommend because wax paper and seran wrap are not always available and can transfer chemicals to your food. This cover does not touch your food so it cannot leach chemicals onto the food you’re reheating. I am finding it takes a little longer to reheat food because the heat is not fully contained under the vented lid. That is not a problem, just realize you need maybe an additional 20-30 seconds of time.
