Customers say
Customers like the weight, comfort, and fit of the boot. For example, they mention it’s relatively light, and perfect weight for summer. That said, some complain about the durability, saying the stitching separated and the bottom rubber gluing split. Opinions are mixed on waterproofness.

Fantastic Value For the Price
I purchased these to replace Hi Tech Hiking Boots purchased about 15 years ago. Although not in constant use, I wore them often enough to know I got incredible value from them. When I started looking for a replacement, imagine my surprise, and relief to find the same high quality brand right here on Amazon. Although these boots are not the same design as their predecessor, they are darned close. Right out of the box I knew I’d made the right choice. They look great, feel solid and well made. I’ve now been wearing them, pretty regularly in lousy weather and not so great terrain, and am totally in love with them. Very comfortable to walk or hike in. When shopping for this pair, I noticed a lot of boots at a much higher price point. So I thought these might be the cheapened down, lower quality version. But, no, these are really well made, and I think I might get another 15 years of these Hi Tech boots. Very, very pleased, great value for the money, can’t recommend enough. I don’t think you need to spend more to get a better boot.

Good value hiking boots
I’ve been wearing Hi-Tec and Merrell hiking boots for almost 2 decades, hiking mostly off-trail into the back-country. I hike 40-50 miles a month, ranging from easy 4 miles hikes to the 24-mile GC rim-to-rim. While Merrell is a great boot, my favorite was a Hi-Tec boot that was discontinued several years ago. These are almost as good. They were comfortable on an 8 mile initial hike with no break-in.One problem I have with both Hi-Tec and Merrell boots is the stitching easily abrades on off-trail hikes, and causes seams to break. So I look for boots with a minimum of exposed stitching, like these Yosemites. And over the years I’ve learned to coat exposed stitching with flexible shoe adhesive to provide both a layer of protection and prevent the stitches from unraveling if a loop is broken. With that improvement Hi-Tec boots usually last until the soles are worn almost flat. That is a lot of mileage. Some have reported the sole splitting loose on these. I carry a small roll of duct tape for emergency repairs if that ever happens on a hike. (I’ve never needed it.) But if it does happen, it would be an easy permanent repair with epoxy.

Good Value – Have Worn Well
Just received. Seem good value for the price. Fit as expected, good size toe box. Might have chosen wide if I’d used try before buy, but these aren’t uncomfortable. Not planning to hike the Appalachian Trail – just use them for birding and day hikes, and on initial inspection I expect them to last the season. Don’t understand the nattering on about not being waterproof. Of course they’re not waterproof – they’re mesh. We apply a good water-repellent spray to any boot we buy – a spritz every couple of uses = dry feet.Have used for a while now – adding a star. These are a great value. Perfect weight for summer. Still sturdy and protective. Will buy again.

Comfortable but with flaw
I liked the hiking boots because of the tread and comfort in general. I especially like the very padded tongue. It allows me to lace the boots quite tightly without being uncomfortable around the ankle. 4 months in, I’ve had an issue with the inner lining starting to wear out in the heel area. I put some mole skin over the defect, and I’m hoping that that will give me some additional wear. Other than that they’ve been fine. Unfortunately if the repair doesn’t work, it will me and having to replace the boots. They’re not the most expensive ones out there, but I’d rather not be having to buy boots two or three times a year.

Great price!
I had a pair I used in the mid-east on a deployment, and I loved them. They’re sturdy yet light weight. I used then fitment guide, and it was accurate for my size. Great product, great price, and fast shipping. Thanks!
