Strong magnetic hold and good function
This is a really nice car air vent mount for the phone. For those who do not wish to apply adhesive on the dashboard, or who find window mounts to be too high and/or obstructive, the air vent mount is the best solution. This unit has an extremely strong magnet on its platform and securely holds the phone in place. The ring stand that I installed long ago on the back of my phone case is magnetic, and it works just fine with the mount. An adhesive-backed ring magnet is included in the box if you need one for your phone, and it comes with a simple but nifty alignment guide to help place the ring where desired. The back of the bracket has a slender hook that can accommodate even the thinnest of vents, and it is easily secured.
All in all, I am very pleased with the overall function of this mount!
Some other notes:
The whole unit (except the magnet, of course) seems to be made of plastic parts, but they’re pretty sturdy plastic so should be mostly durable — but I do have concerns about the little thin hook that actually supports the entire mount (plus the phone). Only time will tell. And as with all plastic parts, try to avoid over-tightening.
Maybe it’s just the build of my vent, but I found it became difficult to adjust the vent slats once the mount was installed, but it’s very easy to remove and reattach it so it wasn’t a big deal — just adjust the vent the way you want it before hooking the mount on.
The product comes packaged as two separate pieces (magnetic mount and vent bracket), so assembly is required by popping the bracket’s ball joint into the mount’s cradle socket. For me, this was much easier said than done, as it’s a very tight fit. Be sure that the threaded nut that fits over the cradle socket _remains loose_ and is NOT screwed in around the socket, or the ball joint will absolutely never pop in.

Simple connection to vent and great magnetic hold
I just couldn’t believe how easy this Air vent Car mount phone holder was to install and it has a great magnetic ring to hold my phone securely while driving. I have tried these Air vent mounts before, but they were garbage. They didn’t hold well and moved around, and I couldn’t adjust the vent. This one was totally different. The hook easily extended to place on the air vent and tightened securely where the mount does not move when the phone is attached. I could also continue to adjust the vent direction, although I could not close it, which is no big deal for me. I am done with these other types of permanent mounts on the windshield and dash. This mount is easy to remove and place another car and small enough to travel with when I need to rent a car. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Exactly what I needed!
So… my vehicle is 20+yrs old and I constantly hear “just use ur navigation!” 🙄 I don’t have it. And it’s illegal driving while on the phone (not to mention dangerous people 😡). So, this is PERFECT! luckily my phone case has a magnet and the adapter magically worked right away! It also comes with an additional magnet you can attach to your phone if the case doesn’t have an internal one. Pop the little ball in the socket, put it in the air vent, twist twist twist, and 🪄 Walaaaaa! You have a navigation system and a hands free phone to answer calls! So so simple yet so good! Now, if I can just get a cassette adapter to play music from my phone through the speakers 🫣🤭

A good, basic magnetic phone holder
I got this for a secondary phone I periodically use: an iPhone 11 that does not have MagSafe. So, I needed to use the adhesive ring. I attached one of those to the back of its Spigen case. It attached just fine to the vent of our Lexus RX350 (others may no be so lucky depending on their vehicles) which will serve to keep the phone cool as a free bonus. FYI, have the adhesive version in another car.
iOttie has made good products for many years, and this is no different.
