Husbands favorite Bought this for my husband. He has had two pryor, one he wore out the other he returned. He says this one is the best by far, he is very happy with it. He has told me this for the last three days which is how long he’s been wearing it. This is an early review I know but I’m very optimistic in hoping he’ll be enjoying the watch for a long time.
PROS:* All the watch apps work and with no hesitation or delay.* Major apps include heart rate, blood pressure and blood oxygen monitoring. They behaved consistently and with the typical difference in measurement compared to formal dedicated medical-based equipment.* Interestingly, this device included a magnetic-based digital compass. Surprisingly, it was consistently accurate with a simple calibration. This I definitely did not expect – but laughed when the readings were consistent and correct.* The smartwatch was instantly found and registered with Android 14 companion app “FitCloudPro”. The experience was zero fuss. I did not require to register and login to any third-party service. I do not seem to have any usability problems with the companion app on a top shelf Samsung smartphone.* Included in the product package is an excellent quality stainless steel matching gun metal grey wristband. The fit, finish, locking security and ease of use is excellent.* The display is bright, crisp and clear.* Bluetooth calling sound quality is very good, loud and clear.* Message notifications work without drama.* The bezel is metal.* The screen appears to be quite scratch resistant. I like that.* Battery life is deep. You can go a week without recharging, and even two weeks depending on how you configure the watch.* The package also contained the tool required to remove links from the stainless steel wristband so you can fit it to your wrist.* An industry standard heavy duty black silicone wristband is included in the product package.* Both wristbands come with quick release 22 mm pins and a spare to boot.* Product user manual is thorough and supports multiple languages.* The manufacturer “LIGE” appears very proud of their product offering. They included a no fuss 24 month warranty guarantee and formal plastic support registry card with support contact information.* The manufacturer’s address is printed on the product packaging.CONS:* A proprietary USB-to-watch magnetic cable is needed to charge the watch. Don’t lose the one provided.* I consider this more of an annoyance than a con, but there are many decorative watch faces to choose and download, but almost all of them are just plain trite. Graphic artists can really design some super nice and not-so-geeky designs, but they seem to be absent. You will likely find one that suits your taste, but they can do better. Some users might even be willing to pay to get access to some seriously nice designs.* Alarms have to be configured using the companion app in order to be available on the watch.NOTES:* Although the selling vendor indicates the device meets IP-68 water resistance, I could not find this information in any of the product packaging. However, the watch boldly displays on its casing that it is waterproof. In addition, I did subject the watch to a significant wash and it didn’t blink an eye. There is even a function on the watch to purge any water out of the speaker port.* The backing is plastic. I do not consider this a disadvantage.* Perhaps the “dial” styled pushbutton is over-designed. Spinning did not give me any additional functionality.SUMMARY:The value of this smartwatch package is very high and the device firmware keeps improving significantly. You get a lot of reliable functionality for soooooo little stash. Perhaps above all, the watch might look pretty good to some
This is a reasonably decent (albeit basic in comparison to most others) fitness tracker/smart watch (EF4) that appears well-built and for the most part works as expected. It has all of the most common monitors (HR, BP, and SpO2) which are somewhat typical for these fitness trackers nowadays. What set this apart from many others though is that it comes with a stainless steel strap as well as a silicone/TPU one; I personally prefer stainless steel strap. Of course, one of the best features of this is that it has an AMOLED screen that’s noticeably better than most others. It does have many of the standard features as most other budget or off-brand smart watches have and the screen can be set to always stay on if needed. In addition, it has 2x crown/pusher, which is decent because additional shortcut keys can be set with them.≡ NoteThese so-called SMART WATCHES are really just FITNESS TRACKERS with added features (i.e. flashlight, calculator; mostly useless ones too) and it’s NOT a true smart watch/device. A true smart device operates by itself on its own without the NEED to install an App for it to run and without depending on another device (i.e. your phone) to run.For instance, if your PHONE requires an App to be installed on a LAPTOP in order for various functions on your phone to work, or if your phone would lose certain features WHEN your laptop goes offline, would you consider your phone to be a SMART phone? Well, I wouldn’t and I’ll be extremely upset if that’s the case, and that’s exactly what happens here most of these so-called smart watches.###≡ FeaturesBy standard I don’t mean one or two, in fact, the standard nowadays is about a dozen or so including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen, or even glucose monitor just to name a few. It has 3 monitors which is good; unfortunately, 2 of the monitors (HR and BP) don’t seem to be accurate at all (SpO2 appears to be reasonably accurate for the most part although we know the figures for the vast majority of healthy people is usually either 98% or 99%) which is quite upsetting to have found out after numerous tests. In addition, the steps counter seems to be off by about 3400+ so that’s not exactly accurate either but it’s certainly not the worst.I should also mention that an increasing large number of these devices that I’ve come across lately have all suffered from the same (or at least quite similar) issues which implies to me that perhaps hardware (sensors and/or other related components) under the hood is identical across ALL of these watches. It has the typical sports and/or exercise related features that many others have and it also has a reasonably large screen of 1.96″ (for square case) in comparison to many others with a 1.80/1.85″ screen. With that being said, 1.9x” is somewhat of a norm (or at least becoming increasingly common) at this point in time for these watches with a square case so that’s that. I should also note that the advertised 100+ sports requires the app; otherwise, only a handful or so are available (which is more than most people would need under normal circumstance). The same can be said for watch faces/styles (200+ claimed) too and that’s a common practice for these devices nowadays.≡ BatteryIts battery capacity is380 mAh but it’s unverified although that’s slightly higher than the average/norm (around 300 mAh or so) for these trackers. In either case, whatever the capacity might be, the only thing I really care is that it can last me an entire day (charge once a day is fine with me). With that being said, I also don’t have a clue about the longevity of the battery but that’s a common concern for all rechargeable smart watches out there (i.e. battery dies unexpected fast). Note that the default screen timeout is 5sec which is unusably short for me but it can be increased up to 30 seconds (whereas some other can’t at all while a few can do 60 sec) so that’s great. I don’t necessarily want 30 sec but it’s nice to have the options (I set mine to 15sec). It can always be disabled if needed as aforementioned.≡ Water resistanceBtw, these fitness trackers/smart watches are NOT meant to be submerged in water (salty or otherwise) longer than a few minute even though they often advertise as being IP68 or even 5 ATM which is completely nonsensical if you know what that really means (around 50m under water but it’s really meant for accidental submersion); otherwise, there is an extremely high probability that it will die prematurely, as I’ve found out the hard way.≡ AppFor those who are curious about what the ‘FitCloudPro’ app (3.2 rating) requires;✘ Any data may be shared with other companies or organizations, including but not limited to;* Email address and Phone number, Fitness info, Precise location, Photos and videos, Contacts* SMS or MMS, Files and docs, Installed apps, Device or other IDs✘ Data isn’t encrypted (typical practice in China)* Data is encrypted during transit✘ Device & app history* read sensitive log data✘ Contacts* read your contacts✘ Location* approximate location (network-based), precise location (GPS and network-based)✘ Phone* directly call phone numbers, read call log, read phone status and identity, Photos/Media/Files* read the contents of your USB storage, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage✘ Storage* read the contents of your USB storage, modify or delete the contents of your USB storage✘ Camera & Microphone* take pictures and videos, record audio✘ Wi-Fi connection information* view Wi-Fi connections✘ Device ID & call information* read phone status and identity✘ Other* receive data from Internet, view network connections, pair with Bluetooth devices, control vibration* access Bluetooth settings, control flashlight, full network access, run at startup, prevent device from sleeping✘ NoteLike nearly all other budget smart watches (or any other ‘smart’ devices really) out there, an App is REQUIRED for this to function at its fullest which means you are giving the manufacturer (and whoever they decide to share it with or without your permission) AND the app OWNER (i.e. some company in China and that equates to the gov in this case) your COMPLETE and entire historical data. Some people consider some of these (i.e. precise GPS location, health info, heart rate, blood pressure, or the alike) to be ‘extremely’ personal information and therefore are private. Data mining, analysis, prediction, and eventually profit making and/or a form of control will be vital in many aspects of our lives in the foreseeable future. If this concerns you at all, look elsewhere.###≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a fairly decent FITNESS TRACKER (with some smart watch functions) that works just fine if you don’t care about any of the issues mentioned above , in particular the issues with the HR monitor and to a certain degree the step counter. It’s reasonably priced at $50 for what it provides (a generic fitness tracker, EF4) and its overall build quality, features, usability, and performance. Your mileage might vary.
This is a solidly built and great looking smart watch. I ordered it as a gift for my Dad and he absolutely loves it. The strap is adjustable if needed, but he has big wrists, so it fits him with just enough room for it to move. He uses it to track his blood pressure every day as he’s been working on losing weight. It functions well and is a nice alternative to higher end, name brands. It uses the FitCloudPro app which is my personal favourite smartwatch app. The app is super user friendly, makes it easy to track your fitness goals, and offers so many additional watch faces for download! The watch itself has an easy to use GUI and you can change the menu design by going into the settings. The screen has good resolution, and is clear and bright. In the settings you can also set the watch display to turn on for longer if you find the display time isn’t enough. I like that it has just one button on the side to turn it on. You can turn the watch off in the settings. The battery life on this is stellar and my Dad’s been using all day and night, and has only needed to charge is every 3 days or so. The watch also comes with a silicone fitness band if you’re going to be taking it with you for workouts or hikes. This would make a fantastic gift for the man in your life. I’m so happy I got this for my Dad, it’s one of his all time favourite gifts from me.
