Maelstrom hiking backpack ( a soul-pack ) is a right…
Customers say
Customers like the size, value, comfort, weight and ergonomic design of the backpack. For example, they mention it easily fits personal electronics, meds, and documents, has comfortable straps and plenty of buckles, it easily handles a sleeping pad and that it’s a steal for the money. They are also happy with pockets, waterproofness, and quality. Opinions are mixed on the straps.

Solid Hiking Backpack
Received this backpack for an international trip to Iceland. It was very spacious, with lots of compartments, zippers, and pockets! Biggest pro of this backpack is that the straps across the chest and across the waist are great and lightened the load on my back! As for its water resistance: It rained lightly and my items were still perfectly dry (I cannot speak as to how it would react if it were heavier rain, of course). The only con is that I used this as my carryon-on for my flights and was a bit nervous as the backpack tends to protrude outward because of its design. I had no issues using it as a carryon in fact, but it definitely made me a bit concerned beforehand. Otherwise, this is the perfect backpack if you just need a comfortable, somewhat large backpack for hiking!

Excellent quality!
This backpack is exactly what we were looking for. We purchased this backpack for an upcoming lengthy trip abroad. Highlights are the strength and quality of the material (very very nice quality, not at all cheap), many subtle color choices (perfect for a family with several members to keep their items separated), storage capacity and variance (many well-placed pockets, elastic bands and pockets on the outside are perfectly placed and variably sized), extremely adjustable to accommodate many different sized and shaped people (great as a family staple item), pleasing weight (the backpack is sturdy but also lightweight and when packed full, weight is distributed perfectly with the strap system). Overall, best purchase we have made in a long time. In summary, I loved the storage capacity, the weight, the material and construction, the aesthetics, and the adjustability of this backpack. Will definitely recommend and may buy more in different colors! Buy it. You won’t be disappointed!

Great little day hike pack.
Comfortable for a 5 mile hike, I was able to pack everything I would need if weather changes, plenty of room for extras like a first aid kit, flashlight, water bottle. Build quality is nice and solid, sits perfectly on shoulders-waist, minimizing lowerback or middle shoulder stress. Slips on and off easy, nice, cheap little pack for sure.

Nice for lighter loads
Disclaimer: I have no backpacking field experience. Yet. This is my second backpack (not counting ordinary school backpacks). My first backpack was a 90L external frame backpack. I got this 50L because I wanted something a little smaller and the 90L wasn’t terribly comfortable. This thing is super comfortable on my back with around 30lbs of stuff in it. It fits me like a glove. The stitching looks good. No loose threads anywhere. However after packing, trying it on, unpacking, packing, and trying it on a handful of times at home, I doubt this thing will last long. I can already see areas where the seams want to split (the stitching is spreading out). With a lighter load, it would probably be just fine. Therefore, I’m thinking the 40L would be excellent at these prices ($40/40L, $50/50L) if you only need 40L. Again, nothing has ripped yet but I expect it would out on the trail for 3+ days.Pros: Fit, feel, looks, price.Cons: Not super durable but not super flimsy either. The zippers on the belt pockets were a little jingly, so I ran some cord through them the way most of the other zippers have cords in them.

Worked well, Great Bag for the Money, NOT Waterproof
Use this bag for day hikes, some short and very casual, some rather long. Well designed, comfortable and decently made with ample space for fluids, snacks, extra clothing, rain-gear, emergency items etc. The sewn in pockets in the well padded waist-belt are a plus. Great economical option for anyone who needs a daypack. I use it for day hikes where if it failed somehow, my survival wouldn’t be at risk. It is NOT however, waterproof, nor is it an expedition level piece of gear. (So for most of us it’ll work fine.) I think that both Amazon and the seller probably have a different definition of waterproof than the rest of us.

Great overnight sized backpack at a great price
I was very excited about this backpack as I needed a reasonably priced back pack sized between 2 of my hydration day packs and my full sized metal frame 65 liter backpack. I was looking for something that would easily carry a days load for camping (or long overnight hikes) and this fit the bill in terms of price and size (about 22 by 14 by 10 inches packed) . I was very impressed upon opening the package by the light weight yet durable fabric. It’s not ultra thick which saves weight but yet is perfect for the loads I’m carrying, which would typically be a full days change, a sleeping bag, battery pack, flashlights, some food, snacks and a hydration pack. You can easily secure hiking poles to this pack as well. A hydration pack is not included, but is not expected at this price point, I plan on using 1 or 2 from my other packs, depending on the trip. A zipped water resistant toiletry sized pack is included and is a nice touch. The backpack has 2 large zipped compartments, with the rear, larger compartment having the most padding and a large interior pocket. As a storage test, I packed 2 sleeping bags in this compartment (pictured). You could add some padded cargo (e.g. clothing, towel) to the front most pocket if carrying a laptop or tablet (which I don’t plan on for this pack) in the thinner front zipped pocket. The rear zipped compartment has separate holes for headphones or a charging cable and one for the tube of a hydration bladder. There is also a small zipped pocket on the top and one on the bottom containing the rain cover (which can also be used for storage). There are lots of straps and pockets on this pack, including one on each of the hip belts (which I love for phones, wallets and keys). There are also lots of loops, both plastic and fabric for carabiners and attachments. There are 2 large side pockets that would comfortably fit very large water bottles, both come with straps for securing the cargo in those pockets. There are 2 cargo loops which can be used for securing a jacket or smaller sleeping bag as pictured, I would opt for this to save interior space for clothing and other items.Overall, I think this backpack is an excellent value and looks like it will last me on the trail and at the campsite, I look forward to taking this out with me soon and will update once it’s been field tested.

Keine Kaufempfehlung.
