Nice shoe for walking
I do a daily morning walk and wanted something a little wider to accommodate my injured big toe.Shoes are very comfortable and fit well but the darn laces are way too long. When I tie them to keep from stepping on them, it looks like Mickey Mouse ears and I get tired of hearing the flopping when I am trying to enjoy being outside and alone. The shoes are fine and will last a long time but I gotta do something about the laces.

Great hiking shoes
Worked great for hiking, even in rainy wet conditions. They’re not waterproof but they dried really quick and kept their grip. Only time the grip didn’t stand up was when walking on wet smooth surfaces like a boardwalk. Very comfortable too.

Very nice looking and sturdy shoe
I bought this style a second year for my husband. It is a nice looking sturdy shoe and my husband says they are very comfortable. His first pair are still in good shape and he wears them for working outside around the house but needed a better looking pair. Good purchase, we recommend.

Update after 200 miles
UPDATE 200 milesI was just going to return these shoes. They were so disappointing, but then it started snowing and my other hiking shoes slipped a lot and I noticed these had Vibram soles so I thought I’d give them another try. I wore heavier Darn Tough full-cushion socks and that seemed to really help the fit. I’ve worn them every day for the past month through snow, freezing rain, and ice and they’ve been pretty comfortable, warm, and stable. The one thing I did notice was that the tread isn’t that aggressive so they do tend to slip a little on the snow and ice, but going up or down hill on packed or icy snow they’re really grippy and stable. Certainly not a technical shoe, but a nice bonus for winter hills.I’ve changed my recommendation to I would buy again, especially at the $80 or so price point. They’re a good value.———————————————————————————————————————————————-Needed mixed terrain hiking shoes for fall/winter. I walk 5-7 miles a day in all weather. These shoes were recommended by local REI but they didn’t have my size. This is my experience after a couple of hikes (20 miles total). Normally I’d update after 200 miles, but I don’t think I’ll be using them that much.Pros: Comfortable out of the box. Mildly aggressive tread for secure stride. Good on frozen slush, packed snow, wet pavement.Cons: Heavy. Tiring to walk in. After a few miles every step was a chore, especially on pavement or dry flat trails.Best use: Short winter walks in rain or snow. Or maybe snow blowing the driveway.Recommended: No, would not buy again. If you want a shoe that *looks* like a hiking shoe and you want to walk the dog for a few blocks in the rain/snow then you might want to consider this shoe. If you walk any farther than that, there are better options.

Comfortable, durable all-terrain footwear
When I first put them on I thought they were heavy because for many years I made do with lightweight walking tennis shoes. Then one day I slipped on a wet surface and injured myself. I sought a safer shoe. I came across these the way everybody does now, via the Internet. More to the point, in an hour or less I realized that these were gloriously comfortable shoes and fit perfectly snug. Since then I’ve walked hundreds of miles wearing them and they continue to impress me with their comfort. I’ve worn them to walk country trails, deserts, rain forests, mountain sides, and of course, sidewalks. They’re the “real deal” for all-occasion footwear (maybe not dress up affairs but I digress). Their laces are extremely durable, not likely to ever snap. At the top of the rear there’s a finger loop which enhances ease of putting them on. My feet never sweat in them, even in sweltering heat. They are exceptionally durable and after 18 months I decided to write my review to praise them for the recognition deserved. I highly recommend this brand.
