It was easy to use and does the job. After about ten slashes, my knifes become super sharp.

If it gets knifes sharp.
I have had similar sharpeners like this and they don’t seem to last long. This one has a 3rd slot that the others didn’t. So it works very well for now and my knifes are super sharp. I do use all 3 slots. Did kitchen , fishing, pocket knifes and all came out sharp.

Great Deal For A Basic Sharpener
The reviews crack me up. Some people expecting way too much, to be able to create paper thin slices on a tomato with a $10 Walmart knife. Other people just completely blown away because they don’t spend any time in the kitchen and have never sharpener their knives in 10 years. This is a basic knife sharpener. The build quality for the price is unbeatable. Feels like it should cost more like $20 – $30 and I’m sure this exact product rebranded with a different name on the handle is sold for exactly that at brick and mortar. It’s going to get your knife pretty sharp and you’re going to have to reuse this somewhat frequently. Say once every week or two depending on how often you cook. For best results an actual chefs knife is going to make a difference. I’m using a $30 standalone chefs knife. That’s going to be a better piece of equipment than pulling a random knife out or your 8 pack of assorted knives you got on sale from Walmart for $19.99Though it’s not going to send you to the hospital unless you’re really negligent in the kitchen. If you want expert sharpness where you can cut paper thin slices off a tomato you’re going to need to use a whet stone and learn how to use it. There’s an art to it and a good amount more effort involved to get a razor sharp edge. Though based on the common sense (or lack thereof) in these reviews, I’m not sure it’s the best idea you people should have a razor sharp blade lmao.

Works well enough to know it’s worked
This device is a decent one at its price point. It is very easy to handle due to the slightly rubbery feel to the type of plastic they have used in its construction. And the ergonomically shaped handle with the grooves for your fingers underneath makes it comfortable to hold tightly when sharpening a knife. There are also well-placed rubber pads on the bottom to help avoid the whole thing slipping while being used. All of these things combine to make accidents less likely so as long you’re careful that shouldn’t be an issue. It seemed to work well also. I sharpened our largest knife without my wife’s knowledge and then put it back in the block. Later that night when cutting chicken (still a little ice in the middle from the freezer) for dinner she did notice a difference and asked if I had done something. She said it wasn’t a huge difference but she did mention it seemed to be cutting a little easier and smoother. These are 8+ year old knives that have never before been sharpened, so I guess it’s good that it worked. I’m sure if I used the “fine” sharpener a couple more times it would improve even more. One downside worth noting is that the two pieces of plastic come together unevenly in a couple of places. On the top, the plastic is so perfectly even that you can barely tell there is a seem at all. But on the back of the handle, and underneath on the bottom, the plastic is so uneven that it makes a ridge scratchy enough to make it uncomfortable if rubbed the wrong way. All in all, I would recommend this sharpener.
