Practical, do almost anywhere, stress relieving techniques and exercises
Iâm impressed with this book about Somatic exercises that will help me regulate my nervous system. Itâs one thing to go to physical therapy and learn some of the same exercises found in this book to strengthen muscles. Still, itâs another, entirely different spin when you use those same exercises to release stress and strengthen emotional resilience. The information that makes up the bulk of the book educated me in understanding why and how my body holds onto emotion and stress, and also how to identify if Iâm still holding onto heavy weights from the past. Iâve already used a couple of techniques and exercises to improve the way I deal with stress at work. Iâm excited to let go of so much more to gain myself again.Youâll love this book if youâre looking for detailed, guided, illustrations, and pictures of how to perform different exercises, but especially the information about what you do with your mind while performing these techniques. Thatâs the important part. Iâve been doing many of these exercises for years yet havenât gotten the results that Iâve noticed since reading this book and following the advice.This book is effective as an ebook, but the paperback would be the better purchase so you can view the images easier.

Gentle exercises for your feelings
In this book you can find 35 simple exercises for stress management and emotional resilience. All exercises are accessible and doable by everybody. The first chapters delve in different topics like helping us to get to know our bodies and sensations, and where emotions come from; or why it’s important to recognize stressed how to contrappose relaxation.I’m not fully convinced of the usefulness of all the exercises proposed and I felt I needed a deeper scientific explanation of each moevemtn’s impact on the nervous system. Also, I’d prefer photos to illustrations. Yet, overall, it’s. good buy.

This book has good ideas but basically it is meditation and yoga. I would suggest using meditation and yoga techniques with qualified teachers.

This book is wonderfully written and shares personal anecdotes. The exercises are easy to follow and the quality of the printing is. Excellent . It is written in a largish font which makes it easy to read and it has the option of a downloadable workbook that helps record your progress and with retention of information . Learnwell Books is a small business that go above and beyond in their industry to relate well researched and well formatted material rather than hoping on the bandwagon and regurgitating existing information. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a good book. Personally, though, I didn’t learn much new. My biggest takeaway is that I’m already doing most of the exercises in this book as part of my morning yoga routine. However, if you’re a beginner, I do recommend the book. Somatics is clearly and easily explained, and there’s a good amount of exercises to try in this book.
