Easy to use and durable
I bought these walkie talkies for the stage crew of our first grade play. The walkie talkies were easy enough for the kids to use. And VERY durable. The kids dropped them several times and they still work great. I will purchase another set. Reliable, durable product for a great price.

Worked great for 4×4 driving in the desert
Got these for a back country road adventure in Big Bend NP with friends – Our two vehicles were never terribly far from each other, so I can’t speak to the range quality, but everything else was great. Good sound, good battery! The price is right.

Fun toy
I used this for a road trip across 5 states and it was easy to use and useful when you have no phone service. Although the battery life isn’t long and dies quickly. After about half a mile you may lose signal.

Work Well As Intercom
These are not my first set of small radio walkie talkies, so I have some experience with them and this help me set my expectations. Our needs were specific with these in that my wife had foot surgery and has regular need to assistance from me throughout the day and night. As this is a long recovery (3 months) I felt like we needed to replace our failed set of radios that had finally died with something similar. I chose these and we have been very pleased. She can easily get my attention before speaking with the call signal (sent by pressing the speak button twice rapidly) and then we communicate. We are both pleased with the clarity and volume for $20.00 radios. We also picked orange and black which is hard to lose…and the clip on the back goes on a pocket, belt, or collar quite easily. We have not used them between vehicles BUT we have used them between her being inside while I was outside and they worked well in spite of the fact that our house has foil faced insulation and virtually no radio signals go in or out through it.Distance on our property might be an issue if I were to go farther afield, but I am staying close during this time. When I leave for short trips we simply switch to cell phones. The only issue we face, as some have pointed out, is battery consumption. I do not really believe they are any worse than any of the other radios we have used. We turn them off when we are in the same room or if I am within earshot of her. Some days they are on constantly (until bed time) and we still get several days out of each set of 4 AAA batteries. Would it be nice if they had rechargeable battery packs? Sure, but at a $20.00 price point I do not see that happening. Once she is back on her feet later this summer I will take the batteries out of them, store them away in the office, until we have brief need of them again. They are great for two people matching switches and outlets to breakers on different floors for instance. If you want to go the rechargeable route for more constant use, definitely do so! But for us these are just for a while, and then they will go up on a shelf.

worked but not for where i needed it to
Worked well on land within a mile with some obstruction. Needed it for cruise ship. It worked well as long as we were on the same deck and not to far from each other. Did not work well being 1 deck apart. This is probably great for the playground, open fields, in the same house, and things similar. To maximize long range it has to be clear of obstruction otherwise a small obstruction prohibits your range significantly. It did not fit my needs for purchase.

Used on a cruise
I was cruising with my wife and kids. They had their own room. This gave them the opportunity to communiate with us without having to come knock on the door. Also gave them the chance to have some freedom, but had to take the handset with them. Feels kinda cheap, but ended up working great and good quality. Has several different channels so we made sure we were always on the same one. Lasted the cruise and still works great. Planning on using it on our next one.

Nice little walkie-talkie
Has pretty good range in the city. Good intelligibility and volume. Belt clip is less than desirable, little tough to clip on. The button that turns on the light can get activated easily in your pocket, thereby decreasing battery life. Still, I would buy them again.
