Awesome use of Big EGO Batteries
Bought the Big EGO SnowBlower and came with some big batteries. Never snowed so looking for something to use them on so I got this Power Unit. Ran the Sawzall great and also a Craftsman shop VAC. Cut up a Pallet and did some vacuuming and Batteries were still full.

Good Backup for Power Failures
This is very good back up power during power failures. I have several other Egopower tools and the batteries can be shared with other tools, which makes this investment less costly because I don’t need to get batteries. Because this is battery powered, they last until the batteries run out of power. For me it can power my refrigerators and gas water heater for about 3-4 hours. If power failure is longer than that, I use a gas-powered generator to power my appliances while charging the batteries, or I charge the batteries somewhere else.

Useful Backup for Ego Tool Users
I had to write a short review after buying an Ego mower with a bad battery, although new. Still. waiting for the replacement from customer service, who says they are out of the latest battery type. Not a great first impression for a top-rated mower from Consumer Reports. In the meantime, I had to get another battery to mow the lawn. Meanwhile, I saw this and knew this would be useful during the winter if the power goes out since I will have at least two batteries soon. (I hope?)
Here’s what I found from it: Setting up WiFi on this thing was incredibly hard. I had to use a YouTube video to troubleshoot and had to set up a separate WiFi network just to get it to work. Ridiculous. They need to update their app ASAP, I think? Otherwise, this unit is slick and seems to work with just one battery. I haven’t had time to test it long-term, but this thing is really bigger and more solid than I thought, and I will be very happy to have it on hand in times of emergency.

EGO Nexus Power Station provides awesome peace of mind
I recently purchased the EGO Nexus Power Station after doing some critical research of portable gas (gasoline/propane) generators and battery powered inverters. The Power Station was a perfect fit for my particular situation. Storm related power outages of up to 24 hours are a reality in Hawaii, more an inconvenience than life threatening, altho we do have tsunamis and hurricanes from time to time.
The Power Station can be safely used inside my home, none of the dangerous fumes that gas generators produce. It is quiet, even when the fans kicks in to help keep the system cool, unlike the loud gas motors of generators. It is super easy to use, just a push of a button and itâs ready to power, no hard pulling of a starter cord. No need to worry about gas, oil, spark plugs, just snap in the batteries, quick, clean and easy.
I purchased 2 EGO 7.5 amp batteries to compliment the stock I already have to provide added emergency power. I tested the Power Station with just the two 7.5s and powered my 25 cubic inch fridge for over 4 hours using a little more than 25% of the available power of the batteries (Fridge compressor turned on 2 times). I also tested the portability of the Power Station, running a vacuum cleaner to clean out my car and powering a multitool to fix a broken sprinkler pipe outside my fence line. I also vacuumed the inside of my house and ran my computer for about an hour. Together, the fridge, vacuum, multitool and computer used around 50% of the available power of the 2 batteries. The Power Station w/ the 2 batteries weighed in at around 45 lbs. With its carry handles it was light enough for me to carry around the yard/house with no problems.
The downside of the Power Station is charging the batteries during a blackout. But GOOD NEWS! EGO will be selling a solar charging adaptor later this month for around $150. The recommended solar panels for this charger sell for less than $100 on Amazon. This is a must have, must buy option for me!

Really 4 1/2 stars
Super nice to have when power goes out and you have a few charged batteries around. Got the 400 watt as well for the router and what not but the sound level on the large one can be a bit much when indoors. Still quieter than a generator but can be loud if there’s no other sounds around. Wish I could plug in a larger plug sometimes but I just use a extension cable when needed. The app is okay does tell me some info but overall not really needed. Overall was worth it for me!

Useless for charging batteries AND won’t power anything while charging. Who approved this design?
It’s really only useful as a way to use already charged batteries to provide A/C power. If you want to recharge the batteries you’re much better off using the regular Ego chargers as this power station charges one battery at a time, and it does so very, very, very slowly. Worse, when it’s plugged in (which is how you charge) then none of the outlets on it work (it can’t pass through power). I’m super happy with my a lawnmower, leaf blower, hedge trimmer and a lawn trimmer, all have been up to their task and seem well designed. I’m shocked at how the design of this thing was approved.

Convenient for small chores and as a power back up for digital equipment.
It may do better with inverter motors but with four 7.5 batteries it will not start at 1/3 HP motor. So forget about starting an oil fired boiler. If you already own batteries you might like the clean power it provides to support WiFi routers and charge laptops, iPhones, iPads etc. It will support a TV for 5 of six hours, along with a WiFi router. If you do not have batteries acquired with other tools skip it. A 3KW generator will be more effective.

Heavy and worth it
I have 6 batteries (4x 7.5amp, a 5amp and a 2.5 amp) and use the power station to charge and store 4 of them. It is so convenient. Then about once a month, I load it up and use it for strange things. Construction, camping, and I even hooked up a roasting oven so I could keep food warm at a friends party.
I am looking forward to getting the solar panels soon.
