Customers say
Customers like the ease of use and ease of cutting of the foam cutter. For example, they mention it’s super easy to use and makes quick work of cutting bricks of foam. That said, some complain about the smell and how it creates toxic smoke when cutting. Opinions are mixed on quality and heating.

Great for foam cutting!
I donât know how durable this thing is, but I havenât broken it yet. I can’t say I’m rough on things, but I move around quite a bit, and it’s still with me and working like new! I will say that it cuts through the things I needed to exactly the way it should and it canât be beat for the price. The only thing I will complain about is the holder. Itâs basically useless, but you can easily come up with something else to hold this little item.

Impressive Heat Cutter
Easy to use and works fast. I would recommend using outside or in the garage as the smell of burning is strong. I used this on dollar store foam board so be careful as it can start a small fire. Saved me a couple of days from cutting out 4ft numbers.

Stopped Working – I DO NOT RECOMMEND
The good news is that this pen worked well on 1 1/4″ Styrofoam I was cutting, but it didn’t work for long. I didn’t use the pen for any sort of extended period of time (like 30 continuous minutes). I was using it to cut one 20″ line at a time and would turn it off between cuts. So that would be about 2 minutes of use and at least 5 or 10 minutes of rest. The first day, the pen did great. The second day I used it, the pen / transformer / whatever completely died after making two 20″ cuts. I’d estimate that I’d had it turned on for only about 4 minutes on day 2 and turned it off between cuts. I can’t find any warranty information in the package and on the seller’s store website. There is no contact info on the instruction sheet and I don’t see any on their website. So I guess I”m SOUL. If someone contacts me to correct the problem, I’ll update my review.

Cuts through like a hot knife through butter
This works really well, but it is so hot it is hard to cut a straight line because of how fast it cuts. I use a metal ruler to keep the hot tip from veering off the straight line. It does get the job done.

I used for a small projectThe needle is very flimsy but it did the job.

Not much umph
For a smaller project this would work, but it isnât great for heavy duty jobs or for longevity. Another example of âyou pay for what you get.â

Super handy!
So glad I found this. I have been crafting loads of Xmas decor & this made quick work of cutting bricks of foam I recycled from some shipping boxes. Def don’t recommend for kids crafting as it gets very hot.
