Fairly good panel with integrated charger; absolute direct light required for full capacity
I got this to mount to the shed and maintain the tractor battery as a primary means. Based on the standalone tests it should be able to accomplish this but with some impact since it’s in the shade partially though the dayDuring an intensely hot day with full sun I was getting about 14-15w of energy from this (using an inline amp meter to battery). This was way below expectations though after reviewing the sky conditions, while extremely sunny, was hazy with humidity and some wispy clouds which impact the energy absorption. Doing some calculations the panel might be in the correct target but the choice of cells do not work completely well with a less than perfect day. None the less it did do the correct work and charged a battery.Note: Other solar panels was similarly impacted by conditions so it’s possible this can get to 20-25w.The problem with above is that it’s in full sun and under almost ideal conditions. When it comes to using in a more practical state with some trees/shade I do have some concerns with constant bulk pushing as it get intermittent energy. The controller does not use any power from the battery (good and bad) so the state of charge is lost when there’s not enough sun energy.The good part about shade (tested by being in 100% shade when sun rising on other side of house), the controller seems to have just enough energy to remember the state so seems while there is some ambient light it should maintain well. It’s not going to charge too much anyway so it’s not going to a hard bulk phase.Usage: it was able to charge and not kill/boil a motorcycle battery I had under full sun. It has all the right phases of charging — bulk went to 14.2v while watching and then after time went to 13.44v float when charged. The little lights on the back indicate the phase it’s in, red for charging and green for done.In terms of connectivity it includes everything from temporary hookup to a more permanent one with the ring terminal connectors and SAE quick connectors.Overall, a good panel for light/maintenance applications. I would not consider this for device powering, i.e. solar -> battery -> devices, unless it’s always in 100% ideal sun all the time.

For easy automotive battery maintenance
Summary: One of the best ways to care for a car battery is to keep it properly charged. For a car that isn’t a primary driver, this can be a challenge. This solar panel with charger is designed to maintain your car battery easily.Observations: This unit features a 25W solar panel, with a VoC (open circuit voltage) of 18V, and charging amperage (Imp) of 1.39A. There are two types of charge controls PWM or MPPT. This unit does not state which type on the Amazon page. However, with such a small panel, the difference is less important when charging a 12V battery, especially with the intent that this will keep a charged battery topped off (not recharging a deeply discharged deep cycle marine battery).Recommendations: Having a large pV system for home use, one thing I’ve learned over the years and testing many solar panels; the soft ones do not last as long as hard panels, but are easier to handle. The purpose of this kit, especially if you want to put the panel on your dashboard or back window is more appropriate for a soft panel, because you’d probably bang the hard panel around trying to place it and remove it.Pros: Modular system, with separate charge controller (could be swapped out for a different unit), as opposed to a controller built into the panel; when those break, the panel is difficult to use for other purposes.Cons: OYMSAE only has 13 products, a couple are smaller solar panels, and/or solar parts; cost as compared to similarConclusion: At $60, rating this 3-stars initially (non-specialty, new offering).

Decent way to maintain a trailer battery
I just put this on my cargo trailer, since it sits for months at a time unused. When I checked the battery a day later, it is back up to 100%. I had to cut the wires and add much longer leads to reach the battery from the trailer roof, but other than that, it was a pretty simply setup. I also paired it with a smart battery monitor that I already had installed. We’ll see how this panel holds up to the weather, road vibration, etc. over time. If it works out nicely, I might get a couple more for my other trailer and my truck, since they both sit a lot as well.

Very Versatile Machine
This is big enough to charge a car or boat battery. We have placed this on the rails of our pontoon, and hooked it to the battery for our depth finder and the outboard motor, allowing for a trickle charge to keep the batteries going. On a fishing boat, you can place it on the boat seats, connecting it to the trolling motor battery, so you don’t need to run that motor off of your boat motor battery. This has provided some extra security when out and about on the lake. When the boat is docked, you can hook up the panel to the boat battery so that you don’t have to bring a charger or extension cord down to the lake. A real time saver! You can use this for camping; light up your area by charging your lights off of the panel. It also works for small refrigerators. A multitude of uses makes this a great addition to the tool box!

Simple 25 watt solar panel.
This is a effective but low power solar panel meant to help trickle charge batteries or perhaps power simple devices such as a light or fan.The solar cells themselves are high quality and look durable. The panel is reactive and does generate an adequate amount of electricity when placed in direct sunlight. Position of the panel will be the most important factor in any solar panel, and this one is more than adequate to accept high levels of power.Overall this is a nice alternative electricity source for campers, small cabins, or even a tent. You can slowly fill batteries with this amount of power, but it is not quite strong enough to charge a laptop or other large device with those types of electricity demands. Not bad overall, and a great first panel for someone learning about alternative energy and how to use it!
