Customers say
Customers like the value, quality and ease of installation of the solar panel. For example, they mention it’s well worth the money, the glass seems high quality and the frame on the solar panels is in great shape. That said, some complain about the battery detection and mixed opinions on the indicator light, performance, and charging.

Works great
First one I received was damaged in shipping but Amazon made it right. The second one was fine. Easy to setup and keeps our camper battery charged. I was worried about the tempered glass because we sometimes get hail here. Well, it went through a significant hailstorm and did not sustain any damage. Overall I think this is a good solid kit.

Easy to set up, seems to work well.
The product delivery was quick and it was packaged well and arrived without damage. The instructions are easy to follow and illustrated well. There is information on testing the unit on the back page which is important so be sure to keep the instructions somewhere safe if you ever have to do any troubleshooting. The solar panel is quite solid and the brackets are well made. Installation went without a hitch and the SAE cable connectors are very nice to work with. I made one slight modification on Step 6 where a set screw is tightened (otherwise the unit may fall) where I put a drop of Lock-Tite on the threads just to be sure that any mounting vibration would not result in the loss of the unit. The indicator lights are nice and again keep the instructions so you know what different flash or illumination patterns mean. It was a cool, overcast day when I installed this unit and it still showed that it was charging the battery.Have not had it long enough to evaluate its ability to charge a system over an extended period of cloudiness but I am hopeful it will work out fine.Would buy another one if the need arose.

Small solar panel packed with features.
There’s a lot of bang for the buck with this unit. To power my telescope I use (2) six volt sealed lead acid batteries used in series for 12 V to power a simple cooling fan and a small computer (DSC) used to find astronomical objects. After a night of viewing, a small (12 V, 10 Watts) solar charger is the perfect way for me to recharge the batteries while I sleep during the day. This little unit comes with a built in charge controller (you buy this extra on a lot of solar panels) This maximizes the charging cycle and prevents nasty things from happing. For example short circuits, overcharge protection (turns off when battery fully charged), parasitic back charge (power back to the panel when not illuminated) and will not charge an inadequate battery. I had a personal issue with my battery being bad and the unit not working. I reached their technical service department by email and John was great at helping me resolve the issue. Tested the unit with new batteries and it worked perfectly. The instruction sheet was missing the information that would have been useful for identifying how the unit would act trying to charge a bad battery. Things do get lost in translation sometimes. Bottom line, Excellent unit, Excellent customer service!

Works for lawnmower but not motorcycle
Works fine for my lawnmower but did not keep my motorcycle battery charged. I ended up buying the 30w version and it seems to be trickle charging my motorcycle battery fine.

Nicer than the Deltran Battery Tender, simple fix to address reversed polarity charging issue
I have purchased this Sunerpower solar powered trickle charger to charge my boat battery off-season without removing the battery and putting it on a battery tender in the garage as I used to. I had been using the Deltran 15w Battery Tender solar trickle charger ($140) until a tree branch fell down and shattered its glass. This unit looked appealing due to the more traditional solar panel mount, which as you can see in my picture is on a tree next to the boat. I like that I can bend the bracket to fit the tree and angle the charger up to the sun.Upon installation, as many other reviewers have commented, the charge light was solid red indicating reversed polarity to the wires. My boat battery is connected with standard SAE connectors and extension cables (red+, black-) and I never had an issue with the Deltran. According to my volt meter, those wires read -12.86V, so it’s actually the SAE extension cable reversing the polarity not the Sunerpower unit itself. To fix this there are three options: reverse the leads at the battery so that the red+ is on the negative battery terminal and vise versa; purchase a SAE reverse polarity adapter off Amazon ($6 for two); or use the included cables that come with the Sunerpower unit. As I didn’t want the hassle of undoing my winterized boat cover to get to the battery and considering I prefer to use the extension cables exactly as they are, I chose the cheap Amazon adapter (see picture of tree) which arrived in 1 day. Immediately the charger was fast blinking red indicating active charge, and within a day with decent sunlight, the charger turned green indicating a full charge to the boat battery (see picture). What more could I ask for?So buyer do note that this unit is quite simple and nice and hopefully sufficient to charge and maintain a single deep cell battery, and I like the ability to view the charge status underneath which I couldn’t do with the Deltran unit. But unless you use the supplied cables, you will most likely need to reverse the polarity on the wires which is a very simple fix. PURCHASE THIS UNIT WITH A SAE REVERSE POLARITY ADAPTER. Happy charging.

Seemed to work for about 2 weeks and stopped charging
I installed the panel the last week in September with everything working normally according to instructions. I ordered 3 more to use with other cell trail cameras, and the 1 installed the last week in September stopped working. The flashing red light indicating charging normally changed to flashing green. That battery was then connected to 1 of the other 3 panels but continued flashing green. That battery was then connected to a AC powered battery charger/maintainer, and it began charging normally with the AC powered device connected. What could stop the solar panel charger from charging? The Suner Power site has a technical supprt link that gives Error 404 “The site you are trying to reach does not exist.” How does one reach their support?FYI my AC powered charger/maintainer is designed to not work if the battery has less than 10 volts. Does the Suner BC-10W Poly device have a voltage below which it will not charge a battery, and what is that voltage level if it has one? What else might cause this failure, and is there a way to fix the problem? Can anyone on Amazon answer any of these questions, know a fix for this problem or know how to contact their support?

hooked this up to my deep cycle battery, the battery sat for the Winter, it charged to full capacity in about 1.5 days in poor sunlight.
