Does actually work and isn’t garbage
I’m in Florida so we get a lot of sun, for an older vehicle with direct 12v connections this has been excellent for keeping the battery charged for over 2 years. Originally I had it connected to the cig lighter port which worked fine, but due to old age that port had a mishap, it actually works better on the 12vdc direct. I didn’t know if it would actually work but over time this thing has been great for long term outdoor storage. 2000 Ford ranger here. Product does what it says it does. Starts every time.

Keeps the battery charged
I use it with my 4 wheeler to keep it ready to start and it works great. Ii liked it so much I bought another to keep the battery on my mower charged up during winter storage. That one came without ant of the wires or suction cups though. I contacted the company and sent me a whole new one! Great customer support!!

Needs to be outside the vehicle in order to charge
This is for the 6W panel. Build appears to be solid. When exposed to sun it produces about 18volts DC open circuit (with no load… ie not plugged in to the battery). I had no idea if it was actually generating any charge since the voltage would drop to the battery voltage when connected. So, I bought a charge controller and found that with the panel inside the vehicle, mounted to the underside of my truck’s sunroof, the tint on the sunroof prevented any measureable current flow to the battery. If I opened up the sunroof at mid-day, it generated between 200 and 300 milliamps. That’s an itty bitty trickle of a charge. I have plug in battery maintainers that generate 1000ma (1 amp) and 1500 milliamp. My truck sits a lot so I’m thinking this will keep my battery topped up. Time will tell, but if it works I won’t have to take up the limited space in my driveway so I can run a charge cable out from the garage. I would rather leave my truck parked out in front of the house on the street so my driveway is free for our other cars, washing cars, friends coming over, etc.

This has been installed now for the last 4 months and every time I check the battery it is fully charged. The engine turns over nice and fast. I do like using this in combination with the charge controller. Look up “Intelligent 10A MPPT Solar Charge Controller” that I bought here on Amazon. It just let’s me check whenever I want that the panel is still working and provides another level of battery protection if the panel electronics decide to short out some day.

Works Great! going to get 3 more for farm equipment.
Works Great. I have a 2005 F150 that have taken to have an electrical drain fixed two different times and mech could not find problem and found batter had bad cell. A new battery and it worked great for two weeks then the battery would drain down and would not have power to start after two days. On fords the relays will ‘click’ when battery power low. Since I do not drive the truck daily I had to jump start each time I want to drive it. I got this solar charger, plugged it in and, laid it on the dash and parked truck facing south. I have not had to jump off truck since – plenty of battery power. By the way the reason I had a bad cell on my other battery (still under warranty), was due to the daily electrical drain damaging the cells. I will be getting one for each of my three farm tractors.

Stupid proof- Easy to use. Keeps my diesel ready to start anytime
I only drive my 1 ton diesel occasionally. After the dual batteries start to get long in the tooth starting the truck after sitting for a month or two can be dicey. Since I started using new batteries and this solar charger I have had zero slow or no starts. Batteries last longer when you don’t let them drain down as well. A pair of boss-hog sized truck batteries will set you back $500.00. I’d prefer not to purchase them any sooner than I have to.

Did the opposite of what it is supposed to do.
Back when I bought this, I connected it via the cigarette lighter to my truck. Results were poor to inconclusive – the battery was dead when I went to use it after a couple of weeks, but that had been happening anyway. I blamed the amount of wiring involved and the charger being on the dashboard (inside the windshield).
A month ago I put it on my walk-behind lawn mower battery, which was new last year and has never been an issue. I did this out of curiosity, and also because I anticipated a long gap until my next mow.
Rather than a healthy, charged battery, yesterday I found a dead – completely dead, had to be charged before it could be jumped – battery. I ran the machine for ten minutes and parked it – it went below freezing last night and it still started easily today *without* the unit attached.
Conclusion: the product I received does not work at all, instead, it drains the batteries it is connected to. A waste of $40 in my case.

Good while it lasted
Worked fine for almost a year. Two weeks in a row my car wouldn’t start. I charged it, then it didn’t start again. I tested the charger with tester that’s included. The green light didn’t come on, meaning the charger isn’t working anymore. It would be nice if there were a constant light on indicating it’s charging still on the device itself instead of having to disconnect it and connect separately. Would have saved me a lot of hassle.
