I had bought one of these 10w chargers a couple years ago for our 1997 Lexus in the driveway. Works perfectly! We have an 03 Acura in the garage & neither is driven hardly at all, so I got a second charger today for the car in the garage (Running the wire through the wall.) The battery dies from sitting so much even inside out of the weather. Looks like another winner except the lead that attaches to the battery was about 1 foot long. If that. It wouldn’t even make it out from under the hood! My first one didn’t have this issue. It was short, but not THAT short. So I had to correctly add on to it so that it would reach far enough out to connect without having to pop the hood every time. The 10w charger was plenty to keep the Lexus charged even in the 2 or 3 cold winters I have used it, and the product has held up just fine! Didn’t give 5 stars because that is kind of a no brained about the length of the lead. ***UPDATE*** bought a 3rd one for yet another car and realized it wasn’t lit when connected. Tested it and got voltage from the sun. Dawned on me that either something internal is hooked backwards, or the wire is. I switched the leads on the battery and voila! It works. My original one didn’t have this issue and comparing the wire leads, it IS opposite to what I had before.

Worked for 30 days and died.
Bought this to keep my dump trailer battery topped off when setting. It worked good and kept the battery at 13.6 volts for about 30 days and then completely stopped working. Volt meter has shown exactly 11.62 volts for over a month now. The trailer and battery are nearly new at 4 months old. The panel is setting in direct sunlight every day but it simply does not charger anymore. Return window is up. Wish I could recommend this but I have to say stay away and don’t buy.

My old car had a problem with the alternator or something, and the battery was always leaking charge (even when replaced).Using this solar pad, I permanently hooked it to the battery, ran the wires inside, and stuck it in the passagers side.I can say that it works and it works damn well, I went from regular battery issues to none at all, just like that. Would have cost thousands to fix whatever needed to be fixed, yes it looks ghetto but it works and it works well.

Bought to maintain classic car battery between use. pre install tested on two mini-12V lead acids – pre-charged as delivered so charge level unknown. Took 2-3 days to charge each one to get Green LED on but panel was only vertical in dining room window (facing SW) so OK it works as expected. Bought with panel a long twin lead with matching connectors. Took it to the remote garage to install as a fixture and:seemed nothing worked ??? Well, (1) put your voltmeter on 200V DC as O/C panel output > 20V DC – in high sunlight about 27-30V so safe; (2) Get the extension cable the right way round so it fits panel AND control unit – then mark cable so next time not stupid , And behold – even in the garage panel controller showed charging tho probably take forever . (3) It’s quite a big panel and needs to be in sunlight for as much as possible but wet-weather protected so an off-ground lectern support with a clear glass panel over the solar element and some waterproof tape around the panel – long cable joint would be advisable.And Classic car happy too!
